There wasn’t any demand for the internal combustion engine, Starbucks or Redbull until they came along ! Build it and they will come. Seriously, I hope it comes to fruition. Our X5M is my wife’s daily and I’d gladly spend some bucks to get the front tires back to OEM camber specs. Not looking to set a lap record and I suspect the vast majority of X5M owners are in the same boat. Either way, thanks for everything you provide for our machines.

Run a preorder with a 50 % deposit. If it’s enough to pay the R&D after 1 month, build it. If not, refund the preorder due to the lack of ROI.

+2 for that guy's idea. I'm getting about 6k miles on the fronts due to excessive inside tire wear. The rest of the tire has a ton of tread, but the inside strip is down to the cords.
I think the camber arm should be offered with the MSS springs to correct this issue.

Update.

After some research and digging around, I may have something over the shelf that may work.
I will test it as soon as my test car is dropped off. Should be next week.

I will follow up with the result.

Good news!!!
Swap the A-Arm and this is based on my measurement using analog tool.

Before: -2.75Ί
After: -1.5Ί

Factory recommendation: -1.2xΊ

I wish I have better way to measure the alignment. But, it should gives you rough idea how much it reduce the negative camber.

This would be the cheapest and fastest solution.

Interesting. Where is the A arm from? I need to look at the alignment specs, but the visual difference is noticeable when lowered. Subsequently, I may be interested in the upgrade if the tires won't last less than 12k with MSS springs. But if they can make it that long, I don't think I would mess with the a arms at this time.

Appreciate the info

Came off G05 X5.

Again, camber doesn't reduce tire wear. Toe does.
Camber will allow you to have more surface patch to the tire.
Imagine putting a square foam like dish washing foam on a flat surface, that is 0Ί when all edges sit flat.
When you tilt 1Ί, it has more foam surface touching than when you are 2Ί tilt.

I am checking on my cost on this.

Side note though: I wouldn't recommend this A-Arm for track use since it is not spec-ed for actual M car.

I would say that's true within reason. Severe negative camber will absolutely cause tire wear as the contact patch of the tire is greatly reduced and you're riding on the inside edge and concentrating the load on a smaller area. When you can see daylight under the tire, you're going to wear through tires.

Maybe I interpreted your comment incorrectly but it seemed like you were saying that fixing the out of spec camber would not affect tire wear.

Respectfully, I think you're both wrong. From recent experiments I conducted, it would seem that footwear has caused premature tire degradation. Specifically the right shoe being of excessive weight has caused a noticeable drop in tire life. Very strange indeed.
