Individual needs to be clarifyed, as there is individual trim and individual leather besides individual exterior paint.

Something is up with the S68/hybrid transmission from a part supplier to explain the limited V8 allocation, as Plant Spartanburg recently expanded individual paint capacity, especially for the XM—which has “free” individual paint for label edition. I don’t believe the individual restriction.

Certain models of Range Rovers are now offering the S68 from BMW also. Could this be sqeezing the supply of these highly desireable engines?

Model year change is July/August though. My SA indicated that the closing of Individual wasn't normal at the beginning of the year like this. Especially as it does not affect all models, only the X models.

This was the BMW Individual exterior paint option that is unavailable. It is not across the board, but all US built X models are affected.

We will see if that is true, we had a member post yesterday that their dealer submitted an Individual paint order for them. Of course it likely will get rejected since they want Marina Bay Blue which is not on the Individual Paint that we last saw.

Marina Bay Blue is a standard paint - at least on the M60.

That is correct. They don't usually allow a serial paint for a model to be an Individual paint for other trims in that model. He is ordering a 50e and Marina Bay Blue is not listed on the latest Individual Paint list that I saw.

My SA read, verbatim, the email sent from BMWNA to dealers. This may not be true for people outside the US, and it wasn’t true for all model lines. I inquired about Individual for an M60i, as I will just do Isle of Man Green on the X5MC if that allocation comes up first.

I believe you, just wanted to say that someone ordered an Individual paint yesterday so we will see what they say. As I'm sure you know, very few dealer personnel read the information that BMWNA sends out in regards to production so it is not surprising that they took his order.

Finally heard back from the last SA. She said 12 weeks for an individual paint color (estimated delivery June) for the M60 and 6 weeks for the non individual colors.

At this point, given the poor trade in values, high interest rates, and other non desirable specs for the new model like 1 MPG improvement and a quieter exhaust to name a few. I’ve cooled on the idea of making the move for now. Plus not to mention I saw an article that listed the X5 as the top 10 worst 5 year depreciation at approx 55%…

Other than the ventilated seats (a big flop IMO), I am ecstatic about my M60i. It surpasses all of my initial expectations. My upgrade to iDrive 8.5 was a win too.

This is the general consensus of LCI owners, fantastic vehicle.

Keep in mind that those depreciation numbers are usually based on 5-year residual values. Meaning the value reduction of the 2018 model year. Which was a previous body style X5.

I'm not saying the X5 won't depreciate a lot, but you may see better (or worse) figures for the newer body style and especially the LCI.

Depreciation rates etc. are tough to really nail down as most vehicles are traded to a dealer where another vehicle is being purchased while a far smaller percentage are sold privately to another individual.
Trade in values are all over the map as they are clouded by all the crap that goes into the final cash difference when the deal is made.
The new car retailer can discount the new unit heavily applying any/all incentives and offer a lower trade # or the reverse where all that discounting and incentive money is piled onto the trade.
A friend of mine a number of years ago was looking to trade a 28 month old Benz at the original selling dealer on a new current model year Mercedes and was offered 50% of the original MSRP on the Benz he was driving with no damage or any negative history.
Depreciation on some of the european made stuff can be ferrocious. What Joe Blow thinks his vehicle is worth can often times be wildly different than what it will bring on trade.
Buy a Ford Bronco if you want to minimize your depreciation significantly.

You don’t say. Should be obvious that those of you who bought them, think they’re terrific - and you’re right. :-)

Yes and you too would know if you owned one.
Certainly seems to be a real hot button for you when you see any of us expressing satisfaction with our new vehicles.

Assuming The My BMW app as well as the M60 itself will tell me when I’m due for my first service visit, but was wondering if anyone knew when (mileage and/or time) it’s typically triggered-??

I just hit 5k miles and thought I might have gotten an alert, but I didn’t

That is the initial mileage but it can go up or down depending on usage. The maximum time period is one year.

I have zero complaints with my ventilated seats (with extended Merino leather). I think they do an incredible job. Then again, this is my first vehicle with ventilated seats, so I don't have another baseline.

UK/European service intervals are different then those in the US.
