What’s the point of custom ordering the car if you aren’t customizing it to exactly how you want it! Any number of things could happen that could push the date back but those factors like rail strikes, parts shortage, getting caught in QC purgatory are out of our control.

You do say your happy with it. Curious what changes would you make? Are we talking about a package like DAP or something like adding M Sport?

Got assigned my VIN today and looks like I got bumped up into Week 40 from 41. ProdDate shows 10/3/2022!

The only change I would make is the exterior color and in reality, I don't particularly care for the additional color options available on the BMW Individual website. I am perfectly happy with the Carbon Black Metallic color. It looks great in the sunlight. I like phytonic blue as well, but we already have 2 blue vehicles and I don't want all our vehicles to be the same color. I like a couple of the frosted colors, but they aren't available for the X5 45e and if I really wanted a different color, I could get a colored wrap that would satisfy that change.

You should be fine. Week 4 ends 11/6 so even if it is produced that day it should be at your dealer the next week as long as trucks are available. Of course there can be delays for QC, missing parts, truck shortage etc. but if all works as it should it will take 3 or 4 days to get to IL.

Today is the 10th day since last status change to 112. I hope it moves to 150 soon.

But anyway it's only W38 at the time of this post. My expectation is around W39 to change to 150 because build completion is W41 — that's around 2 weeks if the build all goes well

Happy to report I got back to 112 this morning
Will call genius line for the production week (previously moved from 41 to 43)

To give you an idea.. It hit status 150 today, and the prodDate is

This would keep me in the week 41 prod schedule it seems.

Checked the status of my 45e this morning and I was moved back to 111 after being in 112 for close to 2 weeks. Called BMWG and was told I was moved to week 45 (Oct 31 - Nov 4) due to parts shortage. He wouldn't give me any additional details. I really don't want to get delayed again. If it happens, I likely won't make the end of year deadline for tax credit. As it sits now, I am still nervous since I live in the Pacific Northwest and transport times can take close to a month. Fingers crossed that it all works out.

Things are going to get interesting in this forum come November and December!

Even if we miss out on the $7500 deadline the 50e will be a nice consolation prize sitting on the other side of the New Year.

I have to keep calling the Genius line to find out where I stand. It's moved around a good bit the last couple of months and I'm now supposed to be week 40 for production but my status doesn't show a change like yours...

Is there another way to check instead of calling the Genius's?

It's crazy how pervasive and persistent these supply chain challenges are. I think it's fair to say they've lasted longer than many of us expected, and will probably continue for the foreseeable future.

Same here also in CA. Moved back to 111 yesterday, was told by genius prod week is now 44 from 41.
My 45e build is pretty basic, with only m sport and parking assistance, so a bit surprised to see such delay.
