I bet you could have ordered a week 50 build and just canceled if it didn't get delivered in time.
i tried that locally, but they sold to someone else. I'm good with trying a 50 build under those circumstances, but I have not found another dealer with a 50 build willing to do that...

You gotta make your own luck. I'd be calling every dealer within 200 miles and googling others. I've heard of Perillo BMW in Chicago that touts deals nationwide.

Cheers

If we weren’t so picky on our color and options, that might work.

Haven’t seen anything close in all my searches. No big, I wanted a PCD delivery anyway, so now I can work that out sometime next year with a ‘24.

Completely new to bimmer X5. My Maryland dealer has just modified their allocation for me based on my personal build for Week 50 build. The car is currently at 112. My dealer sounds pretty confident that the car will be delivered by the end of year and he said it only takes a few days (3-5 days) to get the car to the dealership once the car leaves the factory. Is this even realistic?

I guess we will find out eventually, but just want to see if anyone is on the east coast here and think Week 50 build will be delivered before the new year.

So interesting how the dealers differ. Spoke to NYC dealer yesterday, he was very pessimistic about a week 50 making it and said maybe a 30% chance of arriving by end of year. My local dealer says end of January and several have said it should make it. I imagine a dealer near the factory would get quickly. I need to find that dealer in that area with a week 50 allocation!

Welcome to the forum. Of course anything can come up but Week 50 builds should be delivered on the East Coast.

I would put a Week 50 to NYC at about 95% chance of making it on time.

I wish I could find a dealer willing to take an order! Of course I won’t accept in ‘23 so they don’t want to risk it I guess. Not like they won’t sell it right away!

I guess if you can find a better vehicle for less money that makes sense. Personally the $7,500 credit would have no effect on my decision to get a 45e if I wanted one especially since there are no vehicles for less money that I know would provide the experience of the X5.

Sure makes sense, but I would just get a ‘24 and wait a little longer. Our Model Y is ok for the interim.

That sounds like the way to go. The interior seems to be the main decider on that. We had many folks order the 23 because they didn't want to get the 24 interior. It seemed their dislike for that overrode the additional HP and quicker charging of the 24.

Don’t get me wrong, I’d buy this year if I can make it work. Despite me saying I gave up, I invested a couple of hours today looking across the country for one!

One never knows……

you should read the last post here - it will give you an idea of the length of time if you have been just given a Dec allocation. This guy has done a wonderful job laying out his timeline.
https://g05.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...1959845&page=4

Week 50 builds are going to filled up with (delayed) November allocations in my opinion (I could be wrong, just going by examples). For example, my Oct allocation was released Sept 29 for a build of week 43. It actually was built this week (week 47). I'm afraid it's quite likely that new allocations for Dec might not actually get built in Dec, but rather in January. But I encourage you to try. It is always possible.

Wow it seems a bit shocking to me that people have such different opinions about whether Week 50 production would make it to the east coast dealership in time before end of year… I only wish BMW can tell us for sure. Anyway, waiting game for me now. Hopefully the car makes it.

Crossing my fingers for all the week 50 people here! Should we start seeing 150 status changes next week?

If everything goes as it should there is no doubt they will arrive by year end. WBMNA would never take a guess when something is going to be delivered prior to dispatch since there are too many variables. Production could easily be pushed back due to a shipping delay for parts, truck shortage, etc. Last December there were reportedly over 2k completed vehicles waiting for a truck. Things have gotten a lot better but anything can happen.

Does anyone here know how long it should take to get a vehicle to go from built to delivered to College Station, TX? We're from CA and have a Dec 8 build date in week 49, but we're also calling around to find any open allocations. I'm willing to take a road trip in order to take delivery by Dec 31(for the tax credit), but it's a non-refundable deposit there in TX it seems. I've seen folks in another thread taking about 1 week for theirs to get to Austin, but not being from that area I'm not sure if the same should hold true for College Station. If anyone has info on this, I'd appreciate it.

It normally takes 2 -3 days to Texas.

Thank you TurtleBoy . Why/how do they get there so much faster than west coast deliveries? Are these vehicles perhaps going straight to some states via truck instead of rail?

Correct, West Coast goes by rail and most others go by truck.
