Order Tracking Thread - Stages, Dates and Data Points

BMW Genius states my 45e was supposed to ship on Sunday with delivery to the dealership on Friday. As of this morning, the status on My Garage still states "awaiting carrier assignment." A rep at BMW Genius states she's not seeing that it shipped and doesn't have an update. I'm hoping it shipped as scheduled and their system just didn't update, but I suspect that's not the case and for whatever reason it missed the train on Sunday. Transit to Phoenix.

I finally broke down and called Genius for an update. I received the production number a few weeks ago and have been checking almost daily. Looks like I'm set for week 23 which he said was w/o May 29.

What should I expect from that point? I'm in PA.

3 weeks or so?

My 2022 BMW X5 M50i began production April 21, 2022 and was pretty much done May 4, 2022. May 6 said left factory & May 8 was at the dealership (PA).

8 days from production date to pickup from dealer outside of Boston.

Red calipers

Unfortunately I'm out of town so my wife picked it up. Looking forward to getting behind the wheel this weekend.

Now I have to be patient for my M3….

Just joined the forum as I have ordered my first BMW so i have my training wheels still on. X5 s40i with alot of boxes checked. Originally had an x3 m40i on order but the wait time was too long so we upsized our vehicle (am going to miss the speed of the m40i). I have been creepin on the forum for a few days and have learned a ton so thanks to all of you that post.

Spoke with the genius yesterday that informed me that my X5 is scheduled for week 23 production. My question is, other than our supply chain challenged world, has then been any concerns of ordering so late in the model year before the factory change over period? Has anyone heard of them "running out" of parts/options? Just curious.

Welcome to the forum. No need to worry about that, you will be fine. In most years there really isn't a factory changeover period since they are building the same thing with just a different model year designation.

Picked up my 45e yesterday - that's about 2 months to the date from putting in the order. Week 15 build has electric tailgate and CarPlay, no other omissions I can see. HK sound is actually very good - better than the Burmester in my Benz 350 by far. Very pleased so far - bit of a learning curve as with any new vehicle. I keep activating the windshield wiper thinking it's the shifter

. New Century BMW Alhambra treated me well. Thanks to this group for all the great info.
