Visit to BMW Welt: M Performance parts for X5 G05
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com I went to BMW Welt (Munich) today and was glad to see an exhibition of cars with M Performance parts, and among them, a G05 (I got an M50i on order for delivery in Feb 2020). |

it's funny how they don't even have a unit with laser lights to throw $10k in parts on

I like the blacked out insides vs the chrome insides of my Laser lights. I could also live without the blue in my Laser lights...

Thanks for sharing — I get the stormtrooper black out look, and think it doesn't look bad, but +1 to preferring the laser lights. Wish we could black out that housing. Weird they don't have shadowline silk trim and the black exhaust tips too.

I also noticed that but didn't want to edit my comment. it's almost as if they didn't care enough to put in the effort or let an intern pick things

those headlights shouldn't even be on any X5. laser lights should be standard and drls should be standard look on all X5, not those small u shape drls.

So 13 comments in we have got a fruitful discussion on how the demo car sucks (I tend to agree to most things said, it is an odd choice to display this CF glory), but not a single comment of the actual parts. Makes you wonder who the target is? Russians? Youtubers? I would not be in the market for any of these parts, potentially only for the grill if I had not already ordered the extended shadowline for my M50i. Rear diffusor maybe, but it won't go with the tow hook. I already break out in a sweat when I have to go into a tight parking garage with an X5 (I assume you guys in the U.S. experience this to a lesser extent, but many parking garages in Europe were designed of off the measures of a Fiat 500, I am sure), so putting 2 grand of winglets on each corner of the car is a no-no for me, apart from the fact that it would only clash with the clean look I am going for (debadged).

Happy with my stormtrooper aesthetic; chrome delete, and black grilles/gills/tips on MW. No need for more racing accents with a car seat.

Just saw your car on the other thread, looks good. What interior do you have? I also have a thing for white cars, especially when sitting at the configurator: so I had a AW/Cognac 4-series Cabrio, then my current AW/Cognac 540i, and the first version of my G05 order was for a AW/Cognac M50d. Here I got second thoughts on this theme and decided to switch to BSM/Coffee/Antracite Matte/Extended Shadowline when I changed the build from M50d to M50i. A lot of G05s are starting to show up in Munich now, and I would say at least 50% (statistically reliable figure delivered directly from my gut) are white. I do like them, with the absence of a gray color I feel there is no other color to better show lines and shapes in the body panels and trim. As for my all-blacked-out M50i I do not want people to see lines, I just want them to turn around and wonder what kind of hotrod is driving behind the SUV with the child seats.

The black interior works so well with all the interior accent lighting, which our carseaters love. Love black, but we don't drive enough; would have to wash it every time we got in it

The lack of a front CF Splitter is more than disappointing, and the front winglets are a travesty...

So much discussion about the lack of laser lights which is a $1k dollar option. Perhaps I find it a little more odd that they chose to deck out the "lowest" version, namely the xdrive40, not even a 50.
