Anyone here writing off their X5M on their taxes this year? Thinking about getting one as a business vehicle since my daily driver has 150k miles on it and broke apart on my way to a client lol

I use mine for business (I have a regular client and commute to their offices a few times a week and travel frequently for cases/conferences). I lease, so I can't use the Section 179 deduction, but I use the actual expense method and it works out well. With sky high payments these days, depending on your usage of the vehicle, you could easily deduct $10K-$20K using the actual expense method. Throw in a new set of tires every 10,000-15,000 miles (more for me as I got several flats), gas, insurance etc...it adds up quickly.

Thanks. I'm thinking of financing the whole thing and using bonus depreciation to take 100% in 2022 before bonus goes down to 80% in 2023.

That sounds like the move. I'm not an accountant, and this is not tax advice, but I think you can take both the Section 179 and the expense method.

Passing the info along. Not a broker. Landed in Houston (buyer backed out of order). Should be an MSRP car. PM and I'll give you sales guy number.

I am in the process of negotation for a 2022 X5M.

What % off MSRP is considered a great deal? I think I read 3% on a past post being a good deal (in this current market).

It's a '22 and '23s are hitting the lots, so bear that in mind. I just got 5% on a dealer in-stock 2022 F95 unit in July (123 down to ~116.5); deep South. Markets will vary as well.

Just helped my dad pick up a 22 X5MC for MSRP @ 122.5. There was a dealer adm for 7.5 worth of tint and ceramic coating which we were able to have them removed. The following week all the adm on M cars were removed. I asked my sales rep which is the sales director, he said he just got in and doesn't know anything about them being removed. I feel like we could of gotten a discount if we would of waited another week.

Has any one here been offered a lower % to take their warranty or extended maintenance plan?

What is the deal with the LCI X5M's, been trying to hold off upgrading my F85 until the LCI comes out.

Bronco Raptor / G-Wagon / Urus have all been tempting, but I still don't think any of those offer the full package I'm looking for that comes with the X5M (cargo space, ergonomics, etc etc)

LCI is for the 2024 model year. It will be released in 04/2023.

So I was still hoping to hold out for an LCI F95. However a nice blue one at a dealer near me caught my eye.

Fully spec'd, 2023 X5M Comp(built 09/22), $126,999 sticker.
Dealer will not let me pay full cash for the vehicle. MAX 20% down and finance the rest 60mos 4.99% and 72mos 5.99%. I can payoff with no prepayment after 6 months.

Can I work this deal or not? Otherwise back to waiting for LCI version.

The finance rates are jacked up by 1% on each. They are forcing you to finance because they get to make money on top of the base rate of 3.99 and 4.99

You can prepay the next day if it’s with BMW FS. Put the down payment on a card where you collect points. I put 10k on my Citi card and got 2% cash back.

Also, are you getting anything off MSRP?

Thanks for the tip, I'll double check that financing is in fact through BMW FS. He just offered $2k off MSRP if I want before end of month, so if I want it I'm going to come back asking for a little more off.

Yeah I know how it works, I was just curious if this is common practice anywhere else. I have never had a dealer request it.

Look at what brokers are offering on the lease hacker forums in terms of discount as a guide. Search out of your region if you need to just to get a sense. Of course local markets will be different but at least you know if you’re asking too much off or could push for more.

Just checked, thanks. Seems like some dealers are offering up to $2k off MSRP on F95's. So may be limited on how much I could push further. Appreciate it.
