Just had this issues, bought the OBDLink LX from amazon on prime day as it was on for 35 bucks and says supported, seems to work fine, was able to code other modules but it will not code the tailgate module, just says coding error right away, reads ok, coded the lock beep in the alarm module no problem. Emailed them to see what they say, their site says the adapter should work with an android device for all modules from what I can tell, but maybe I just meed the MX+?

I have the same issue and the developer told me it's a known bug. Not addressed in the latest version (3.0) but on his list to address soon.

I use a different adapter - UniCarScan - so I think it's with the app not the adapter.

Ah ok, hopefully they update soon, literally the only thing I really wanted was close the door from the remote with a short press.

When did you do it - looks like the bug was introduced, so this used to work but no longer does unless it works with the veapeak only for some reason - did you code this recently and with a current updated version of the app?

Seems it has gone from broken to more broken - there was an update this week and not the tailgate ecu comes up as not supported at all, very unhappy with the app, bought it for one reason and that was to code the tailgate as others have done it with the app and now it is so broken it won't even let you read the ecu.

The tailgate was broken in the last release.
He probably disabled til it’s working again.
I emailed him and confirmed it wasn’t working in the last release after receiving errors during programming

I was able to code my tailgate using a Veapeak about 2 months ago using Bimmercode.

Ya it used to work then they broke it and say it is a known issue and now they have removed the module as supported from the app, I could read it last week no problem and make changes and it would error writing them back, now you can't even read the settings.

Got a little more info from Stephan, he said it is an issue with that module needing messages longer than 512 bytes and that is not possible with one of the bluetooth or wifi adapters, so he disabled it for now. He did say it works with enet (so ethernet adapter on iphone will do it).

Does anybody have a problem programming the custom buttons after coding? I recently tried to program some of unassigned buttons and it says "unable to save". All previously programmed buttons work just fine. They cannot be overwritten either. I coded ASS and the tailgate button. I don't know if this is a coding issue or something else.

I just read some of the recent reply on this thread. It seems like the tailgate coding is removed due to a bug. I coded the tailgate button right when it became available. Haven't tried to program the custom buttons until recently..

Sorry for late reply!

I did it about 3 months ago. I just checked last week and the function on Veepeak was not available anymore.

Thanks I did get a soLotion from the developer using an iPhone, Ethernet obd adapter and an older version to code it.

Pardon my ignorance, but how the heck do you plug an Ethernet cable (Enet to OBD) into an iPhone, which currently uses a lightning connection?
