Door Edge protector?

Do you use something like this or it looks cheesy?

You could use thick (1-2 mm) transparent tape

Example: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079R5V3KX - I am sure you can find better.

I used this on my Tesla, it's barely noticeable unless you're looking for it. I used a heat gun afterwards to make it adhere even better. Note, when doing the rear doors, you only have to do the vertical section of the door edge (skip the curved wheel arch edge).

EDIT: added a photo!

Thr vinyl outer layer turns yellow after some sun exposure. Dark color car, not so visible. Light color, they look aged.

I would prefer the XPEL clear tape protection.

What about something like this? https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B09...HBT5TA4DM&th=1

It would provide better protection - and kind of discrete with dark colour paint, thoughts?
