Clutch is not bad but based on my experience I can’t recommend him.

I will check with the SA and PM you. I wound up picking up an X5M and he didn’t have the color combo I wanted, so I went elsewhere.

The Cayenne is a phenomenal vehicle. My wife and I each had one for a time. I went from X5 M50i to X7 M50i, then the 2022 Cayenne EHybrid, now X5M. My wife went from GLE 580 to 2021 Cayenne EHybrid to a 2022 E-Hybrid Platinum Edition. IMO Porsche’s suspension strikes a great balance of being comfortable while not having a sloppy feel, granted the Hybrid’s have the PASM feature. It would not surprise me that if you were to compare the base suspension on each , the Cayenne would be superior. The infotainment and tech features are superior in the BMW in every way. Regarding the space, the BMW cockpit feels more spacious; however, the Cayenne has a rear seat that can manually recline and adjust for and aft. The Porsche’s build quality is great. Between my wife and I, over the years, we have had 7 Cayenne’s and they have been extremely reliable. If you shop for a Porsche, make sure you pay attention to the build sheet, there is no standard build. The best deals at the moment are the CPO loaner or factory demo’s. As far as I know, they can be leased, even if they are 2022 models.

I guess need to find a dealer in MD.

For some reason I am unable to send PMs in the app.
You may want to consider Performance Center Delivery so you can purchase from any dealer in the country.

I looked at a couple X5M's in stock - ~$1500 off MSRP

FWIW, I browsed around in Truecar and dealers around me offered 6% discount on in their in stock X5 so you don't need a broker to get discounts like that. Give Truecar a whirl IMO and some credit unions give you additional discount on their rates if you use their Car Buying Service which is basically sending you to TrueCar

I’m assuming that the <4% is on the 45e. Otherwise most CA brokers should be able to get you about 7% +/- on the 40i trim. One thing that bothers me about Clutch (and that’s not why I can’t recommend him) is that whichever dealership he’s currently working with in CA has different pricing for out of state people. In general the best approach is to figure out what discount is really doable and reach out directly.

Looks like inventory is still fairly low in SW Florida.
Not sure if dealing or not.
Bought my 2022 M sport for MSRP last June.
Not many M sports anywhere near me at the time. Actually not many nearby now either.
Dealer did come up 4K on my 2016 x5 trade.

I got 3% off MSRP on a x5 M50i. Nothing too crazy but they also gave me a ton for my trade. Sale was in Dallas, Tx this week.

I can share more details over PM. I don’t want to bad mouth him here. He is a highly rated broker, he’s responsive and I’m sure most people who truly need a broker can’t go wrong using him. He was just never able to offer anything better than what I already had on my own.

I think like always, it depends on supply and demand.
My local BMW dealer did offer me a flat 5K off on any M50i he had on the lot. Didn’t have any 40i or 45e.

I was interested in the 45e only, so still looking.

I am in NorCal (Roseville) and using Clutch (order placed Dec 16, 2022) at -7.5%, they have been very easy to work with on an order and responsive so far. I found that the other two brokers I contacted really only wanted to push existing inventory with 22" wheels and when pressed for an order had lower discounts.

The one risk remaining is that I have no idea what SCAL dealer I will have to deal with to finalize yet and what possible shenanigans they may have in store to assault me with. The X5 40 was produced this week and now "awaiting carrier assignment".

I am the one person here that was actually hoping it takes longer than expected since I didn't actually want the X5 to arrive until late Feb/Early March lol. My local dealer is always exactly $2,500 over whatever I could find on my own in the past so I have never used them for an order or even a used car (still always overpriced).

I have used BMW Santa Barbara a few times over the last 20 years for new cars. This time I just decided to use a broker for the first time and get the car delivered assuming it would be a SCAL dealer that the transaction ended up with.

I am looking at clutch and from the east coast. He said all paperwork will be done via mail/DocuSign so contact with the dealership unless I want to. It makes no sense for me to fly in and back to see the vehicle and get hammered by the finance guy for extras. I am a bit concerned as my ryes won't see the car until it is delivered but we'll see.

Did you try all the Nor Cal dealerships on your own? I can think of at least 3 that will beat the 7.5% (please don’t pm me because I don’t like them and don’t want to send them business) Most people in CA should not need a broker to get 7%. With a little bit of effort people should be able to get that on their own.

I did not even bother with my locals up here around Sactown as they are awful for purchases or even the SF Bay area dealers that I think I read still are decent for orders/deals - maybe East Bay or Stevens Creek? I had horrible experiences investigating purchases with the Berkeley/San Mateo/SF dealers 15+ yrs ago when I lived there. I mean, the entire Roadfly>>Bimmerfest>>Bimmerpost order from Santa Barbara era started back in the late 90's because of just how annoying those dealers were.

I was clearly looking for a zero effort purchase!

BMW of San Francisco may be the only BMW dealership in the whole country that has one star rating on cars.com 😂

BMW Denver Downtown offered 7% off as of yesterday. Posting this in case someone in CO is looking for an X5 as that market hasn’t been very buyer friendly lately.

Just to add to data points here: I am working with a broker and received 10% off an X5 40i xDrive. $598 broker fee negates some of that, but figure it’s a wash with $750 finance incentive.

Regardless of which new BMW you order, taking delivery at the Performance Center is a great experience! Did it in 2014. You're just out your travel costs but they provide you overnight accommodations, dinner, breakfast, transport in the morning to the PDC; 1/2 day school in a similar BMW, lunch and then your personal vehicle delivery. If another BMW is in my future, that's the way I'll get it!
