I live relatively close to Plant Spartanburg and I have a tour of Best Fit/paint booth booked September 12, the week prior. As I understand it the build week is generally the week that production is supposed to be "complete." Not holding my breath about seeing anyone's car in particular, but if yours is Ruby Red II, I imagine it'll be really easy to spot if it's there! Great choice.

My order was initially scheduled for Week 33 as I had an individual color..(midnight sapphire ii blue)..but them few weeks back it got pushed to Week 38..BMW started offering Tanzanite Blue 11 now and my SA was able to work with BMW to get my color changed to TB 11 and still keep week38..BMW honored my color change request as they pushed my order initially !

They added Tanzanite in early June if I remember correctly.

Yes..did that in Jul 3rd week when I found out that my order has been pushed back. Called BMW Genius, who recommended me to reach out to my SA to get the order modified as the prod week had been pushed back and BMW would be able to accommodate it. I was asked to send an email with a request, which my SA used.

Week 38 build here as well - Already rejected a 50e delivery 2-3 weeks ago after the interior trim was not what I ordered. Luckily, the dealer had another allocation already for September.

Not sure. The build sheet that was shared with me at the time of order was correct but my order was held off (at my request) until more news of iDrive 8.5 came out. Either way, the dealer didn't say much.

Overnight I decided to upgrade my X5 50e w/ the M Sport Package. I saw a 2024 X5 in person and did not love the unpainted black bumper trim... sent the dealer an email and text, hoping they can make the change w/o much interruption. eeeekkk.

As long as you are not in Production Begins the change should be allowed. It likely will have no affect on your production week.

Went in to production status today. Have my VIN and says production date 09/19. So that’s just like TurtleBoy said.

I just called Genius - I was bumped to week 39 for whatever reason. I was week 38. I'm in no rush, just sharing.

Just for clarity, when you go into Production Begins that does not mean that assembly is occurring. It means that a VIN has been assigned and parts ordered/allocated. This usually occurs about two weeks prior to your production week. Assembly takes less than a day and will occur on your production date.
