BMW SC Plant to Pittsburgh, PA

Anyone who has had their BMW coming from SC to the Pittsburgh area know how long it’s generally taken? My dealer said they come up via train, not sure how accurate that is…?

I live in West Virginia, and mine came up in a day from the plant it’s something like 7 Hours drive

Extremely high probability that it will come on a truck.

Agreed. I found the train thing to be odd since it’s not across the country.

As mentioned, it goes by truck and not train. It depends on the stops but should be a day's drive.

Mine was was a week 25 build. It arrived by truck at Rahal South Hills around June 22 or 23. I got on Monday, June 26. They got two trucks in one day, so there were quite a few cars to prep for delivery. There was no mention of a train.

Rahal South, know that dealership well, used to live in Peters Township.

Be glad they don't use train. My ex ordered a Jeep and it got stuck in a trainyard for almost 2 months waiting to be unloaded. In the end, the car wasn't even worth it and glad I went with BMW who was able to deliver my vehicle in under 4 weeks after they started production for 2023 X5 models.

That seems to mean a few things, you have accessories being installed, you are waiting for a truck from the factory or it is at a terminal being transferred to another truck.

So be prepared for a stop sale once it hits the dealership and gets put in the inventory. Several recalls going on right now you’re probably looking at a month out before you even get it. If not longer for parts availability I have a friend there x5 setting in a dealer now with no eta on parts .

I checked the VIN and no recalls. So let’s hope not.

I do have extra accessories ordered, I thought the dealership installed that stuff though? Floor Mats, trunk mat, advanced eye 3.0…

That would be why it is there, they are now factory (or close to it) installed. Check your build online to make sure the Advanced Eye 3.0 is still there. They have been removing them from builds and they aren't being installed.

You’re right it was removed from the build…I just looked. Why are they removing them?

I have seen due to availability and also that they are not compatible, have not researched which one is the real reason.
