Week 42 Build

Just got my production date of 10/17 for my X5 xDrive40i. Here is to no delays and fast transit! Maybe I will have a new ride for Thanksgiving.

With production on 10/17 I'd say Halloween isnt out of the question!

Question In QC

My build date was 10/17, but it started a day early and completed build last night. It is now in QC.

Does anyone know how long dealer prep normally takes?

Usually a couple of hours or so unless you have a 50e which requires the battery to be charged.

My 50e has been stuck in the dreaded QC state (155) for a week now. Was hoping to get it early, but I may be waiting a bit.

I also have a week 42 M60 Build which completed production about a week ago but also seems to be stuck in quality control. Reviewing other threads it seems pretty standard at this point especially for the M60 V8s to be stuck in quality control for 2-4 weeks.

My X5 M had a 10/16 production date and has been stuck in QC limbo for about a week now. Fingers crossed it isn’t more than another week or two.

Just got a text from my sales guy saying I’m waiting on a carrier! The website updated shortly after to “final assembly.”
So that was about 8 days in QC.

Mine was stuck in QC for two weeks. Seems like most M60 models are stuck for about 2 weeks. According to TurtleBoy (who knows quite a lot), it’s because of replacement parts and most of these parts come from Germany. Not sure if they batch process them. Hang in there and the wait will be worth it.

I second this. My M60 was stuck in QC for 10 days before it was released.

Mine was a part that had to come in, I feel like that’s the reason most people experience. Should be at the dealer by early next week. Hopefully not too much longer for you 👍

Yesterday my M60 X5 said dispatched from factory and today it says "at port". But it is coming to NYC? Why would it say "at port"? Do all the cars go there first before being transported?

Are you getting accessories installed? They go the At the Port for that. It also sometimes happens when switching car carriers at a distribution yard but that seems to be rare.

Just the floor mats! I guess thats something the factor or the dealer does not do? What a waste of time. I should have just done it myself or ordered the weathertech mats!

That will do it. All accessories ordered with a build are now installed at the Accessories Center. We have seen the installation of mats take a few days to a week.
