'21 M50i just totaled, looking at '24 M60i - advice?

I was just in a crash 3 days ago and my mint M50i was totaled by a lady who hit the gas instead of the brake (in Florida, of course) I'll probably order a '24 M60i but I'd like some intel before I order so I can go to the dealer informed. I'm still waiting for the estimate and our USAA insurance will add 20% to whatever that is.

I've read posts where BMW muted the awesome exhaust sounds which is a real bummer. (I kept mine on Sporty. It was fun to hear the burbles and pops it would make.) It's disappointing to hear they did that as it was one of the fun things about the car. The bogus fake sounds don't work for me. (The outside sound is what's important to me, lol) I don't want it to sound like a 6-cyl. I'll also miss the pretty crystal shift knob, that tiny toggle is silly to me.

I intend to build pretty much the exact thing with the addition of the Driver Assistance Pro (semi-autonomous driving). I couldn't find any posts about options and deletes that aren't available via the configurator? i.e. can I delete the soft close doors only? (Had them on my 2014 and they had problems) Is the electric cargo cover going to be available? I had wanted it on my '21 but due to covid it wasn't available. I'm asking because I don't trust the dealer to be open with me. (Sometimes they're not informed themselves)

How often are the incentives changed? My husband's retired Air Force. $500 is a measly incentive. We'd only have to finance a small amount which we'll pay off in 2024 tax year. Looks like we should look at other financing to get the max discount?

Best course of action is to just use your husband’s military discount and bring your own financing so you get the max $4K discount. Navy Federal CU is offering some of the lowest auto loan rates currently. Since your husband is former military you both can open an account. Get the shortest term loan and check to see if there’s any penalty in paying it off early.

Many options are part of a package and cannot be ordered individually. The online configurator is pretty comprehensive. I picked up my X5 M60i on 8/22 and am currently on my 2nd road trip. Great performance and extensive use of Highway assist plus has me sold on the technology. The exhaust note is a bit muted for some but I’m fine with it. I know what the car is capable of. +1 on NFCU financing.

And while you are on NFCU's site to get the loan info you can get your certificate on their TrueCar site (once you are a member). https://navyfederal.truecar.com/?ref...tm_content=oem

Thanks for that info. We'll look into Navy Federal.
