2023 X5 (G05) with Harman (688A), MATCH UP 10DSP profiles
I have a 2023 X5 with the Harman (688A) system.
Long story short... I was not happy with it. I had the Match 10DSP installed. I kept the stock speakers for starters. The sounds is much, much better now. Not perfect, but the loudness, the fullness, the bass is there. Are there any X5/Harman owners with Match 10DSP installed? Can you share your Match10DPS profile? I would like to look at it, and see your settings. Also, could you please comment if you are happy with it? |

Thank you very much.
I uploaded my tune file too, if anyone needs it or is interested. Do we have any G05 with Harman / AlphaOne users here? Can you guys share your tune file? |

Never seen the Match amp before. Is it the same as the AlphaOne? I am going to go full AlphaOne soon. Would love to hear about anyones experiences with the amp or full monty over the stock harman system.

Bimmer-tech probably rebrands it, plus provides support + files. There is a steep learning curve to the Amp. It is not a simple plug-n-play device. But it can definitely improve the experience compared to the stock system. I am very disappointed by the HK system. The stock system does not have a very good sound. I think it needs tuning. Plus the Subs are way underpowered. Not exactly sure why... at this price level the HK system should be much, much better. |

Thanks @ dombi
Will get the amp first and then tackle the speakers later. I think the HK system is OK but agree it lacks real high end SQ. We have a very high end home system and would like better sounds in our lovely X5. I just loaded a 1TB thumb drive with several thousand ripped CD FLAC files which made a big difference over the music on my iPhone which is stored as ALAC files. Either through CarPlay or I-Drive usb.

I got the MATCH UP W8BMW-S Subs installed: https://www.audiotec-fischer.de/en/m...ers/up-w8bmw-s The kit came with the pair of speakers needed to replace both Subs under the seats. The new subs are 2 Ohms, compared to the old one's 8 Ohm. Sound levels were adjusted. Timings were set. The system was also EQ-d using the PC DSP Tool. Wow! What a night and day difference. Everything sounds amazing. Sounds are loud and clear. The whole system fills the cabin. And I just listen to Spotify over CarPlay. Higher quality file probably sound even better. This is what the system should have been like coming from BMW. |

I also have to say that I have an X5 with the HK system. The mids and highs are fair, but the bass is really lacking even with me fiddling with the equalizer and settings. I may look at the Match subs that you mentioned as a replacement.

When I took delivery of the car, I was very disappointed in how the HK system sounded. Then, as days/weeks went by, it got used to the sound. Some song sounded better then others. But it just never sounded good. For the Amp + Sub install I was there the whole time. I watched the whole process and I talked to the installer. I am not sure why BMW went dow this route with the HK system. IMHO the stock system should not have been released like this. Getting the Subs + Amp together really made a really big difference. The HK's stock Amp is underpowered, and there is no way to tune the EQ on it. So even if you replace the Sub, the sound probably still won't be as clear. In the Amp, with the individual speakers adjustments, with the EQ adjustments, I can finally hear the little details in the music, once again. You can really tune the sounds to your liking (improve it a lot more for the rear passengers for example). Now the sound really fills up the car. |

It costs a bit more b/c they will tune it for you ahead of time and they build their own wiring harnesses to make it an easy at home install. There's some weirdness about how the LCI checks the sound system and will brick the Driver Assist Pro if it notices an anomaly. Bimmertech has built their wiring harness to work around this by working with one of our board members. I am curious if Bimmertech uses Match subs as well. |
