Does anyone use Costco Gas?

I'm curious if anyone has input regarding Costco or BJ's Gas. I'm hesitant to use it in my truck and haven't since I've owned it. I would like to if there were no ill effects, I've read a few posts a while back and there seemed to be mixed reviews. Does anyone have some experiences, good or bad about using this "Discount Gas". I'd still use 93 obviously but I've heard they use no detergents the way BP, or Mobil etc. does. I tend to lean to the Mobil stations as much as I can. What do you guys do?

YES!

Yes, I use Costco premium and have since i got my X5 last May. It's been fantastically cheap. Currently, in Atlanta, I'm getting $2.39 a gallon. I have had no issues whatsoever with it.

Highly recommend!

The biggest thing when worrying about gas from stations is the volume of fuel going through it. Less people more time for fuel to sit in tanks and condensation caused water down fuel. Second part is the additives that are used for fuel stations but you will have to research that. I've always like Shell just opinion based on no issues while using it. They also supply Kroger their fuel so I don't mind filling up at my grocery store with the discounts. A place like costco you have nothing to worry about due to the volume they sell.

It may in fact have come from a Mobile or BP refinery since Costco has none. The main question would be if it's as cheap as other sources since it requires a Costco membership, but if you are already a member it's likely as cheap or cheaper than local stations. The Costco stations in my area are generally cleaner, newer and more accessible than most of the stations locally, so I generally use their 91 octane in my X5.

Very good to know, thanks for the info guys. I appreciate it and now I can save a few bucks by filling up there. I've been holding off using their gas for the BMW but I do fill my Silverado and Jeep with it and haven't had any problems. Was just worried since these cars have high performance motors.

We use Costco gas in all our BMW and other cars. I even use it in my Bmw m8 v8 with twin turbos.

It's perfect and works well.

All gas comes from the 1 or 2 refineries and then gets sold to the different companies who brand it and then do some more work at their end like adding additives to boost gas economy (whatever that is that they claim works), etc. As long as you are buying it from a reputed place (not a small 1 pump station in a mountain pass kinda place) then you should be fine. See the amount of cars and volume that they have and logically it should tell you that it is safe

At my local Costco they have 93 octane
I never put below 93
I’ve used it in all my cars, never had any issues
Currently use it in our 2020 X5 and my Audi S5
Both run great

I just returned an M3 after 3 year lease. I used Shell or Costco exclusively. No issues whatsoever, and honestly, on average, Costco gas returned better mileage. Probably ran 3 Costco tanks to every one Shell.

That said, in my new X5 I'm running Shell for break-in period, and will switch over to Costco in the latter stage. I think their gas is more than fine.

Interesting article on the 93/91 octane debate from C&D. Related to the 2019 M5, a slight difference in technical specs (actually, better mileage and torque with 91), in performance, not so much.
