I drive mostly in Sport Individual with engine in "Sport Plus" and the remaining in "Sport." Stops the aggressive downshifting the "Sport Plus" for the transmission features.

Since this is a G series forum...I'm not sure if anything is different or how much anything is different...but in the chart below (from one of the f30 forums)...you can see how the two features (driving experience button) and the D/S/M (drive/sport/manual) gear lever gate position affects the car's chassis (suspension/dampers/etc) and the transmission's shifting patterns.
Also as mentioned/discovered in this thread...some BMW models will have two sport driving experience modes...SPORT & SPORT+. The latter (sport+) usually turns off DSC automatically and puts the car in DTC mode (dynamic stability control nanny is reduced)...and some cars also have two comfort modes...COMFORT & COMFORT+...but that wasn't listed on the chart:

Also, G series cars no longer have comfort+, that was also in previous generations. |

But to be fair to BMW, you can still turn off DSC and turn on DTC manually if you want it that way. They have just made it so now you have the choice. Previously, there was no choice. If you selected sport+, you could not turn DSC back on. I'm all for giving us more options and not 'bundling' settings together. It will certainly avoid anyone hitting sport+, coming unstuck and then blaming BMW because they didn't know that DSC was turned off automatically |

I understand that for some people who don't drive cars that often may not know their own car that well, but hey losing control of the car while flooring is just sounds so stupid to me So I would not "blame" bmw for not telling the driver the risk of sport+mode in the first place. For some people, giving them a lambo plus slick tyres they will still end up in walls or fences or whatever. And these people are giving us BMW drivers a bad name. I can feel a tangible difference between sport and sport plus, especially the reduction in sideways lean during corners. Sport individual however just feels like sport no matter what. I don't understand the chart posted, seems like sport and sport plus are the same? Does sport plus firm the suspension even more than sport?

So everything except suspension and steering(like engine, transmission) has three options: Sport+, sport or comfort. While suspension only has two options: comfort and sport. So I am not so sure about 50i and m50i, but 40i suspension probably only has two settings after all. I might be wrong tho, BMW always like to NOT tell you about everything, sometimes it feels like they INTENTIONALLY left bits and pieces of information "hidden" from us |

My 40i only has 1000 miles so I haven't done any sports mode driving but I did play with the sport individual (Turned the engine/transmission to "comfort" and sports on other things"). Man does the suspension feels so much better when turning. I felt no body lean, of course that's not me taking 40 mph turns
I will say the X5 has a surprisingly firm ride (still comfy though), because driving on the same crappy road in Chicago, some of the bumps and broken pavement is kinda hard hitting, more so than my old 5 series before the X5. |

Double the pleasure especially if you have Msport Exhaust. Sounds awesome!

I just picked my G06 up like two days ago, and it is my first BMW. I switched her to Sport Plus mode but didn't feel much except the steering wheel was a bit more stiff. What do I need to do to test the Sport Plus mode? I only have like 45 miles on the odo, so I'm far from break in.

Mine really didn't perform as it should until around 500 miles and still felt faster at 1400 miles than it did at 500. Sport+ really only needs you to drive very hard to test it. Then do the same in comfort mode. You will feel & hear the difference. |

That will make a big difference. 17" non-RFT is the comfort combo. RFT on anything not so much.
I swapped my 21" RFT Pzero for non-RFT P zero - it is much more comfortable over broken road surfaces. Now I just drive over them rather than around the small breaks in the road. Added benefit of better steering feel too. |

I went from 19" RFT to 20" with non RFT on 2 previous 5 series (F10 and G30). Both times, despite losing sidewall, the comfort improved a lot. |
