Now, there are no laser flashes from your G05 showing up either front or rear arrows on the V1?
Where did you mount your V1?

This photo came from an outstation of sorts at CES and someone (e.g. VeilGuy) broke a confidentiality agreement.
I am hoping for 2019, but will be watching tests to see what is lost from the R3 and if there are any gains on laser alerts.

I ended up taking the hardwire out for both the detector and dash cam. We couldn't find any reliable circuit to tap into that didn't power intermittently or screw some other system up. If anyone has any information on a good constant power circuit it would be GREATLY appreciated!!! I reconnected gesture control.

Valentine One Laser false alarm solution
As many have reported, the Valentine One Laser false alarms occur due to the Gesture Control system.
Turning off the Gesture Control in software doesn't turn off the power to the system, so it will continue to cause false alarms. Cutting the wire to the Gesture Control system works, but will be a pain when it comes time to resell. Turning off laser detection in the Valentine One works, but defeats an important feature of the detector. The easiest solution is to cover the Gesture Control emitter with a piece of black duct tape. Attached is a picture of the Gesture Control emitter, located halfway between the SOS button and the Sunroof switch. The tape used needs to be fairly thick. Blue tape won't work. To make the duct tape a little less sticky, apply it to a pair of jeans first, then apply it to the Gesture Control emitter. It will have enough stick to stay in place, but not leave residue, should the tape need to be removed. Patrick |

Pre-orders for Uniden’s R&7 are being taken by a few vendors like this one:

I don't follow your reasoning. The gesture control sensor just conflicts with a third-party device you put into your vehicle. How is that BMW's fault??

My experiences were not positive of the gesture control and often times it took 2-3 tries to turn down the volume besides the fact of how silly and unnecessary it is give the more reliable controls right there on the wheel. I never used it at all and i think the majority of drivers find it a nuisance more than a useful feature hence the taping hack.

There are a lot of things that we can blame BMW for with their G05 execution, but blaming them for your decision to put a technology into your car that conflicts with theirs is a stretch at a minimum.

I deprogrammed my V1 rear facing X band and added the V1 add on that makes alarms silent below a driver selected speed. I set mine at 35 mph. This greatly eliminates city false alarms and false alarms due to car based sensors.
