Bedding brake pads?

I just read about this process. I have about 200 miles On the X5. Is it too late to do this?

Please do not do that with OEM pads and rotors. Its not made for that.

why not? I did it on my previous BMW (see my signature) and never had an issue. Brakes were always quiet
