I'm wondering if that is a factor. Mine is xLine and the ones I looked at online were also.
Can anyone find an xLine built after November (or anytime really) with a non-leather dash that is not stitched? Conversely, can anyone find an MSport with a non-leather dash that is stitched? |

Here's a January 15th build of a 50i msport with the non stitched dash. So maybe it is as rs4eva suggested that they had some random stitched dashes that they used up in December.

Right now I'm thinking it is tied to MSport. Lets see if other weigh in if that pattern continues.

Interesting. Thanks for the responses everyone. I ordered a 40i m sport with extended black merino initially without the leather dash. After reading the forum, I thought I would regret so I tried to change but I had already entered production status. Will be fine either way, but stitched dash and doors would be a welcome surprise.

Yes, with the examples we have had so far that is the case. Of course, I'm sure someone will post the exception right after this post.

It looks like maybe BMW is configuring this way:
1) Sensa-Tec upholstery gets Sensa-Tex (faux leather/stitch) dash 2) Leather upholstery gets base dash unless leather dash ordered . Last edited by lumpydog; 02-15-2019 at 01:08 PM.. Reason: Freakin typos |

I'm pretty much convinced it is tied to the MSport. I just checked out 30 postings from 4 different dealers and for all MSports the non-leather dash was not stitched. For all xLines with a build of 12/18 or later, the non-leather dash was stitched. Let's see if someone posts an exception to that. |

Don't fear it, I'm sure stitching or not you are going to love your new X5.

Off topic, but there is a ton of inventory at the dealers I've looked at of fairly base xlines under $65K that were produced in October, November that have been sitting for months. I'd say one should be able to get an exceptional discount on such a car. |

My X-Line loaner had sensatec and the stitched dash. My M Sport has leather seats and plain dash.

Didn’t order leather dash on my xline, so I was willing to accept boring plastic dash, since it didn’t bother me on my f10, but then when I got my x5 with this dash with nice stitching (I assume it’s sensa Tec, since it doesn’t feel as nice as my merino leather on seats and arm rests) I was really happy, the stitching on the dash and doors look really nice! It’s not leather but I will take it!
