I don't follow. What color do you want? I can see maybe a shade of red but otherwise the colors are there. Do you really want a yellow or orange x5 that isn't a true M. I don't. And good luck reselling that if you do. No one would buy it

Anyhoo, test drove a Mineral White today, MSRP of $67,120. Lots of crap packs I didn't want or need including a charge of $399 for window tint and a low ball offer on our prime conditioned Lexus trade.

"Discount" offered was $4,200 + 2,000 rebate.

Luxury seats were OK and too firm, not cushy like my Lexus. We're still on the fence on this one.

It's the biggest and newest BMW dealership in the U.S., San Antonio. There are so many employees with so little parking for them now that the employees' personal cars were parked on both sides of the road for a stretch of 1/4 mile long!

This is a subjective matter. I've never seen a decent "champagne" but the closest to me that looks good is Ipanema available through LR or Aruba but that is because there is a lot of silver and grey fleck in the paint giving it depth and contrast than a bland old man tan Accord.

Well I'd never buy a red, yellow, orange or light blue X5, so that's okay for me. But it definitely lacks a grey color (don't care for the dark grey colors, because then I'd probably prefer black instead). Space Grey is one of my favourite BMW colors and would look great on the X5.

And the most surprising thing is that there isn't a silver color (not sure if it's only because of the cameras/ACC).

Yup. If I recall, it was the sensors, lighter colors requiring a thicker micron coat to cover adequately.

But yes it’s related to paint causing issues with the Drivers Assisatnace features.

Doesn't seem to be an issue with other car companies.

Really perplexing there is no silver.

Tesla has silver .

BMW has other models with silver and ACC.

We have a F15 x5 with ACC / silver.

Just chiming in but when I decided to get the G05 I was making the same complaint about the serious lack of choice in colors available. Why does every car have to be black, white or some shade of gray?

those are the top three selling colors since 2008. that is what they will stock the most of. from 1998-2007 silver was in there and if you recall almost every damn car was silver. since the great recession white took the popular spot because it is a free color with the least amount of effort to keep clean.

Depends on if if it is camera based or sonar. The F15 did not use camera for ACC. If you look in the front of your vehicle you will see a huge rectangle on the lower portion of it and that is the antenna/module for the ACC. I had it on my F15 and hated the way it looked but was not available on F85 and missed the feature.

As always more colors will be available and of course there is the BMW Individual program which will open up the palette to a few additional colors but I suspect because this is a new vehicle that only became available a few weeks ago the limited options available were created to expedite production and delivery.

BMW obviously knows this and it will effect their color choices.
I have Sunstone Metallic with ACC and Parking Assistance Plus options in my week 49 build !? Turn out great.
Maybe they solved the sensors conflict issues ?

For some reason you still can’t order the full “Driving Assistance Professional Package“ with Sunstone Metalic?? You can add acc as a stand alone option so there is something with the high speed crash midigation that won’t work with the color.

I thought the same sensors and camera are used for ACC, Blind spot detection, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, etc ?

I wonder why Driving Assistant work on Mineral White, which is also light color ?

The only reason I can think of is the color of the metallic paint??? Notice there isn’t any metalic bright silver which is a common BMW color.
