I'm .53 and it hasn't happened to me yet. Only two incidents, one morning I had a new privacy message and my weather widget was gone and a few days later I experienced the BC button not working/HUD issue. Both came back after letting it sit awhile (rebooting iDrive probably would have brought them back right away).

I have 3,900 miles and have seen iDrive crash about 10-times. It seems to be primarily when using CarPlay, which I've stopped using until a patch comes out. I'm running release .24.

I am .43 and rarely need a reboot but when the BC was not working today (needed to reset trip odometer) so had to do this.
I do not use CarPlay so wondered if it was some kind of update went live in the last 24 hours. For example, I have been trying to update maps in more than one region.

Normal for now. I just did 2200 mile road trip with the nav on the entire time. Never a problem. What does happen is voice command loses access to my media drive or other items she can control. If I manually reboot, then all is corrected. I honestly was shocked I had as little trouble on a trip this major. I will get the random reboot out of the blue. Systems come back online quickly without anything lost.

For the first few weeks i had to boot daily. sometimes multiple time then it stabilized and i haven't booted for a few weeks.
I think its self healing. I am hoping corner lights and auto brake will start working soon. |

Converted to iPhone XS for CarPlay and all hell breaks loose. I restart the iDrive at nearly every start to ensure full functionality of CarPlay and no locked screens or displays. And when I do, CarPlay is generally flawless and makes up for the lack of general business functionality with the iPhone everywhere else. I'll learn to get by the various iPhone frustrations and am pleased how CarPlay works for music. Now if only rebooting didn't require pressing the volume button steady for 30 seconds... And not a fan of Android Auto, but native iDrive would be sweet if music artwork and libraries displayed via Bluetooth with native iDrive. Far prefer android over this IOS XS, but I'l expect I will get used to the general lack of functionality soon. |

Here is a new one from my iDrive today. I try to play a song via Apple Car play. It starts "playing". I can't hear it. Go to turn up the volume and get this turd-of-a-descriptive-message. Super helpful. Reboot.
