X5 Dent (!)

After getting my M50i washed yesterday I noticed on the passenger side what looked to be a dent from maybe someone opening their door on mine. Upon further inspection today, it seems that there was a small amount of paint lost. Anyone run into a situation like this who might know what it costs to remove the dent and take care of the TB paint? This is a lease that I really wanted to put PPF on, but didn't think it was worth it unless I bought the car. Thanks!

Probably $50-100 to remove the dent and blend the paint. Won't be perfect, but you will barely notice. Especially on a lease.

It doesn't seem to matter where you park. These things are magnets for this type of issue. $100 isn't horrible, but that's hoping it doesn't get marked up.

If you go to a place like Dent Clinic they can likely fix the dent for a resonable price. It is hard to see the paint chip from the photo. If you get into paint blending it will likely be expensive. You might want to consider touch up paint along with something like Dr Color Chip or Langka. On small chips with a little patience you can do a very good job. If that does not work you still have the option of a more professional repair but it won't be cheap.

A local shop that hand washed the car stated over the phone that it could be between $100 and $250. The trick is whether a local dealer will have touch up paint on hand for Tanzanite Blue.

I wouldn't apply touchup paint, unless it really bothers you. That touchup paint never looks right, no matter how well apply it.

I would try buffing it out first. There's some polishes specifically made to remove scratches like that, but I would just use some high-grade polish. Apply it by hand at first. It's usually enough before resorting to an orbital.

any half decent PDR guy can take that out in 30s, as for the paint, that's not hard to touch up unless you get someone to blend it. I had a few small dents popped out of my X5 from someone's door opening... I parked away from people but you can't fix stupid. No paint was lost for me thankfully. painless dent repair os really neat to watch if you've ever seen them do hail repair before.
