X5 45e charging question

So the day I picked up my brand new X5 45e, the full battery charged was around 40+. So today got the first full charge and it's only showing 27 mi. Anybody have any experience with this?

Estimate is entirely based on your current driving behavior. As the car had not had anything to apply a statistic to, you saw a high 40 miles of range.

Most of us with warm weather are seeing the car settle around 30-34 miles here in the US.

your vehicle is new. once you get into a 'rhythm' of driving (habits, style, distance, etc), your vehicle will show more consistent electric range projection. if you drive differently every time before you plug in to charge, your range will be just as different.

27 does seem like a pretty sharp drop. Check to see if your ‘Battery Control’ reset to like 70 or 80%. At 100% it should charge to around 35 miles. I think (given you’re in CA)…

hi and welcome to the forum.

BATTERY CONTROL is for charging the HV battery while driving. it has no influence when plugging in the EVSE to charge the vehicle. further, when plugging in to charge, you can't set a stopping point for charging (neither in vehicle settings nor on the included EVSE). while many full BEV can do this, the 45e PHEV cannot unless you have a smart EVSE purchased separately with that capability, so on the case of the 45e, it's a feature of the EVSE, not the vehicle

projected electric range is highly variable due to multiple factors (outside temperature, HV battery temperature, driving style, terrain, HVAC use, etc), so electric range upon full charge will vary. case in point, I have a very consistent daily schedule and commute, but i still get projected ranges between 32 and 37 miles
