BMW website indicates the 2023 X5 45e has 389 hp at peak.
I m wondering that 389 hp is at which mode. Is it under hybrid mode or sport mode? since the gas-only version x5 has the exact same engine as the 45e, and BMW indicates the gas-only x5 can only reach 320+hp. I doubt if it can reach 389 hp under sport mode.

it’s likely in Sport drive mode with adequate battery charged in order to provide eBoost at top end

I assume it's in sport mode when electric motor kicks in to help with acceleration. Might also be true in Hybrid mode when you press accelerator to the end.

you’re referring to eBoost. as long as there’s charge in the HV battery, the electric motor will assist the ICE whenever needed, such as accelerating from a stop in ALL drive modes, not just Sport mode. this is called eAssist
