phone or carplay sometimes not connecting on 2024 X5

I have a new 2024 BMW X5 PHEV and sometimes when i walk out with my phone only, my car unlocks, but when i sit in it, it doesnt recognize my bmw id or it lost my phone and i have to turn the car off and on to get it to see it. Ditto with carplay - sometimes, maybe 5% of the time i drive, carplay is not recognized and i have to turn the car off and on to get it back on. Any thoughts on what might be happening?

I have a 24 as well and am experiencing the same exact issue. Everything was running perfectly with zero issues while on iDrive 8. Performed the OTA update to iDrive 8.5 and now I will get in my car and phone/carplay does not connect and have to restart iDrive for it to connect.

Frustrating.

It would be helpful if you guys specified the Version of iDrive you have. That we you might be able to know if an update would solved the problem.

I am running iDrive 8.5 version 07/2023.67

It is the last one I could OTA update and myBMW is showing software is up to date.

can maybe bring up the issue with your SA and see if BMW will authorize an update to address it

SA? I talked to BMW customer support and they took a note, but no feedback on any updates. I am on iDrive 8.5 (I think all 2024 BMX X5s have that per a BMW Customer service person comments), and it says software up to date.

Your Service Advisor. Checking for updates does nothing unless BMW releases the software for your vehicle as they do not support updates on demand.
