X6 M50i - Racechip GTS Black - Installation

Just installed the Racechip this morning, and went way easier than I thought. Probably took me just under an hour, and had it all back together again.

I may have been a little too forceful with the engine cover, as I broke off one of the tabs that hold it in place.

Removing the connectors was pretty easy after I figured them out. Just push the grey locking tab down, and then gently pry the connectors open.

Started the vehicle up, and everything ran.

Initial impressions, without jumping on it too much (wife was in the car), seems like it makes a noticeable difference. Jumping on the highway, climbs up to 90 with ease.

Draggy is charging, hoping to post some numbers w/in the next few day.

Looking forward to seeing your results. Thanks in advance for posting.
There were some recent RaceChip numbers posted for an X5 M50i that were quite good, 3.6 0-60 and an 11.8 1/4 mile both on a slope well over 1%.

Of course I have it in the "Race" mode.. LOL I also saw "fine tuning" on the app, and it allows me to raise it from 6 to 7, but have not toyed too much with that yet to see what difference it will make.

I've seen the 1 thru 7 "fine tunning" levels on the face of the racechip. Didn't know there are other modes that can be selected. Can those be switched on the face of the RaceChip also without the app.
My phone never seems to work with any of that stuff and I am not going to attempt to use the app for that reason.
Some guys say "connect the RaceChip, run 93, set it on 7, and leave it there".

On the face of the app, it has economy, sport, and race. Towards the bottom, it says “fine tune”. For race, its set to six from the factory, and I can set for 7. I’m not sure if you can make change w/o having the app?

I am also pretty mad at myself.. I was using Dragy, logged a 3.5 0-60, and I hit the reset button. Guess I will have to try it out again.

Wow, 3.5 is exceptionally strong. Good job Man. Do it again, you might get 3.4.

Mine is coming tomorrow, I’m wondering how easy the instal was. Did you have to remove any other parts to get access? How exactly do I know which sensors to use? Thanks for any advice

Looks like I’ll have to remove the cross bars and the air vents to get access. If I knew for 1000% which ports to use I could probably do without taking the engine bay apart but I have to be able to see exactly what I’m doing in there. Yikes. Pray for me. Install likely happening tomorrow evening once I can get racechip to answer a question for me.
