As a UK owner, you have the option of using 'auto' for Speed Limit Assistant. Just change it in idrive from Manual to Auto, adjust the +- speed up to 40mph, and above 40 mph (i use +2mph and +5mph respectively) and you don't have to worry about changing the cruise or getting a speeding ticket.

Edit: if you ever get TLA working natively in a future update, you will need aSLA enabling to allow the car to stop at the lights.
I've now set mine to this but will check the manual (shock horror!) as well.

That should work. I like 2mph as it in theory shouldn't go above 32mph. 5mph means you don't go above 55mph, so no tickets.

Some might want faster than 75mph, but I'm slowing down in my old age

I wish the Speed Warning would work on a percentage like 10% over the posted speed.

Had an interesting bug last week, I updated to 11/2020.50 about a week or a little more and recoded stuff like ADV etc. Went on a long drive 5-6 hours last thursday using active cruise with driving assist for most of it as it was late and not a lot of traffic, so most of the time the car is showing the Advanced Driving View on the cluster, about 4 hours in the ADV on the cluster just went black, so nothing in the center of the cluster at all, all while just cruising with ACC on didn't touch anything. After about 30 seconds, ADV came back on for a few seconds, then back to black, did that about 5 times then went black again and after a bit just changed to the map in the center like it has when not cruise control. Stayed like that for the rest of the drive for another hour no matter if I turned on acc or off. Shutoff car when I arrived and turned it back on and went back to working.

Hi all,

I am kind of stuck at the preparation phase of the OTA update. The software was properly uploaded via myBMW to the car, but since one week it's basically preparing the update and not giving me the option to start the upgrade progress.

Anybody had a similar problem? Any suggestion? I have read somewhere that the battery needs to be properly loaded?

Slightly off topic but I continue to be confused by my UK 2021 (built 9th Nov 2020) 45e which arrived with 07/2020 software. It seems to be different to others.

Not only do I not have any Traffic Light Assistant references in any of my iDrive menus (which I hope will appear with a future software update), but I notice that your A/C display below is showing red fan speed bars - I only see white on my display. Any idea why the difference (I don't have 4 zone A/C)

At the time, AC wasn’t on or Auto weren’t on, I just tried now and I can’t get white fan speed bars on mine.

Strange, I wonder if it's due to the blue "eco friendly" dash colours on the 45e which I assume you don't get on the 40i. It's in at BMW today for charging issues, but I'll switch to sport mode (dash goes back to BMW red/amber) when I get it back later and see if its the same then.

I'll try on Eco Pro to see if it changes - that's the closest we have on the 40i!

Well my car is back from BMW with new software - there was a high voltage charge controller error and part of the fix was to install 03/2021.40 - I can't get my heater display to go red, although I do now see references to Traffic Light Assist.

The TLA you're looking for is here - do you get the same as me?

It is via coding, but not something I’d want to do.

In addition, I would likely only use Assisted Driving/ACC on motorways/major dual-carriageways and you don’t get traffic lights on the former and hardly on the latter (at least the roads I use).

Oops!

I'd use on the U.K. equivalent of highways/freeways but not on the smaller roads, as they have curves in them and aren't long, boring straight roads

It's almost perfect in the UK now (with coding) but limited use if you don't engage cruise in urban areas.

it's a shame the green light warning isn't supported yet. That could be useful even if you don't use the Assisted Driving.

I don't see this menu although I did the coding. Here's what I see in the drivers assistance menu.

Did I miss something in the coding ?

with that said, my car does pick up the traffic lights on the road but isn't able to translate their color into any action/recommendation. I get a Red Cross next to the light when it comes up.

Am I doing something wrong? My 2021 X6M still has 07/2020 on it, and OTA update still tells me there's nothing available.

While I did remove 5AP from my FA and VO code to activate adaptive lighting, I didn't write the FA back to the car?

Welcome to BMW.

It's a known issue and BMW has issued a Service Information Bulletin (SIB) on this issue. You'll need to take it in to get it resolved. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/20...04533-9999.pdf
