I need your kind support to get Android Auto and Carplay working in my car. I have a 2021 G20 (318d) with Live Cockpit Plus (Analog dials + 5.1" display) and the 8.8" small touch display (MGU) with iDrive 7. No Connected Drive and no navigation.

Please are you able to activate by coding Android Auto and Carplay? If any additional hardware is need, i'm willing to purchase it, because I need smartphone integration badly. Thanks in advance for the support.

my BMW x5 2019, from Abu Dhabi (which has telematics), got coded remotely, using FSC , but unfortunately apple CarPlay didn't show in my screen. It showed up android auto and it works well. Any idea why CarPlay not showing !!!!

I can take a look by Teamviewer if you want. It sounds like bad coding.

I've encountered many early G05 that did not come with Apple Carplay from factory. I can help you if you still need it.

Hey all,

My last BMW was a 340i back in the UK (brand new 2017 from Germany back then), and I got used to having Connected services to send map locations to the nav unit (before Android auto made its appearance).

Now I've purchased a 2020 X5, and although I have the Android Auto option showing up for my Pixel 6 in iDrive, it stubbornly refuses to connect. Apple CarPlay on my wife's phone works perfectly.

Car has 6CP, 6NV, 6U3, but no telematics. ConnectedDrive only available for MY22+ according to the dealer.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to get AA working in the car? I really don't want to switch to an iPhone just for the maps and traffic info.. Dealer's service manager told me that there's currently no fix for AA in the region from BMW, it may take a while to get it sorted out.

And having that option appear in the car and refuse to connect every time is just plain irritating.

Fingers crossed that it can be done! FYI, coding does void your ENTIRE warranty in the ME region, BMW policy.

Is this issue specific to the pixel 6 or any android auto supported phone doesnt connect?
Make sure the phone is setup correctly.
You can delete it from the connections, reboot the idrive by holding volume, update online services(not sure if it will work since this is an imported vehicle) then pair it again.

Its actually any Android phone, something blocking it from iDrive, since there's no ConnectedServices coded into the car here in the region. Phone works on other cars just fine (tried on 2023 Defender, works flawlessly).

I also tried downgrading from Android 14B to 13 and 14, none of them work. So its definitely the car.
