Just got the 11/2020.42 update and I actually lost the option to turn steering wheel heating OFF or ON based on temp. Had it in 7/2020. It was in climate rules and now gone.

Tried 30 second iDrive reboot but didn't help. Any thought?

Other members have reported that the option for steering wheel heating has been removed from the climate rules.

Some are reporting a feature called automate habit which can, or may, handle it.

It seems it was removed from both automate habit as well as climate rules.

So much for that idea.

Are people getting the 11/2020 update OTA, or only at their dealers? I got 07/2020 a few weeks ago, long after they have been seeing the November updates from the factory and many dealers. Just curious...

11/2020.xx is definitely dealer only at this time. If BMW is going to eventually release 11/2020.xx OTA, it is likely to start that in March 2021 plus or minus.

11/2020 was done at the dealer.

Steering wheel pre-heating is gone in climate rules etc.

It still heats on pre-conditioning with the 45e.

I think having read someone with OTA 07/2020 also reported having lost the steering wheel pre-heating. Possibly due to an OTA of the automatization app itself.

I lost my option as well, but it still seems to preheat it anyway

Maybe it is now part of the seat rule?

No I thought that it might do that but it doesn't.

When seat heating switches on below 10 Celsius the steering wheel doesn't. So they are not coupled.

But like mentioned on pre conditioning it still does.

Not sure if it's a 11/2020 or an iOS 14.3 thing, but I have this new "enhanced" option now for CarPlay

I've got that option with iOS 13.4 so it's not the iOS version.

what files do i need to update on my ISTA+ to be able to perform the 11/2020 update?

I feel the steering has become too light since upgrading to 07/2020.

4.27.20 is the latest programming data to take you to istep 11/2020.42

Car tech forum has the files (sedoy sticky) but don't think his installer allows Ethernet cable without a configuration change

It's only 1 line you need to change to make it work

Though I feel esys is better for programming, then sits for any post update things

thanks. I was really hoping all i needed were to replace some data files in the background and that would be it.

Do you mind sharing, it would be very useful to update the software since Connected drive is blocked in my region and dealer will not do it.

I've asked on the mac forum. All I know is that it's super smooth and no pairing issues
