That means that have not scheduled a production date or VIN. That will be the next step and likely be within several days

Been stuck on awaiting carrier assignment since 1/18 when our X5 was built. Anyone else stuck in this stage recently? The car will be coming to VA

Mine was built at the same time and from 1/18 to 1/24 was in awaiting carrier status. 1/24 it shipped, and arrived at my dealer. The dealer is prepping it today and I pick it up tomorrow! I'd bet yours will be soon too.

Just adding another data point here (dealership near Boston). I upgraded from a 2018 40e because the trade-in values were so high.

Options (X5 45e):
- Carbon Black
- Coffee Vernasca Leather
- M-Sport
- Shadowline Trim
- 740M wheels
- Premium Package
- Parking Assistance Package
- Heated seats
- Climate control option
- M-Sport brakes (blue)

- Touch screen, Android Auto and Apple Car Play all seem to be there as well - no deletions
- Tow hitch option returned the day my car went into Production Begins - it was too late at that point to add it and they would not make an exception

12/15 - order placed at dealer
12/16 - Scheduled for production with 1/25 production date
1/7 - Production Begins
1/15 - production date moved to 1/22
1/21 - Exterior body assemby begins
1/21 - In the paint booth
1/21 - Entering assembly line
1/22 - Assembly in Progress
1/22 - Quality check
1/24 - Final Assembly
1/24 - Ready for Transport
1/24 - Awaiting Carrier Assignment

1/24 - I got an email from my SA saying that the X5 is expected to arrive at the dealership on Saturday (1/29), which will probably be delayed because snowstorm. It will take 2-3 business days to sort out title, registration, insurance, etc.

Overall the process has been crazy fast given the supply shortages.

I have to agree

I've been told the title usually comes in following day on the afternoon (at least lately)

I'm hoping to pick up the car on Thursday or Friday before snow on Saturday (especially mine comes with summer tires)

once the car in my possession, I'm ordering winter wheels

Nice - and congrats! As long as you can get it home before late Friday night you should be good! I was told the same about the title - hope that stays true.

I ordered mine with All-seasons but I'm leaning towards getting a set of Blizzaks anyway. Looks like you can get a decent set with wheels on Tirerack for around $2K.

Out of curiosity, I've been hearing some folks are doing a Credit App once they get a production number. Are they asking for another when you go to pick the vehicle up? Seems weird if there was two pulls.

unfortunately for me its not as easy due to the 21" size, I have to go down in width on the rear tires but at least I can still get them (last time I checked)

everything happened so quickly for me as one night I'm ordering next morning its in production (I literally had no time to change the wheels to 20" with all season tires) I thought I won't be getting car until April or so

no only once, my credit was pulled today when car got to the dealer, but it could be different I assume as he asked me if he pulled my credit before or not

I assume they do a soft pull at the begging and hard pull at the end

Been stuck on that since 1/11

My CA said that car should be at the dealership this week or early next week. Dealership is near Sacramento CA. We will see.

I don't think so...at least from my experience, my credit wasn't pulled until I got to the dealership to pick the vehicle up. I've never had to sign anything, place a deposit, or get my credit pulled (until I picked up) for any of my orders in the past.

Weird that they would do it twice.

I never allow the dealer to run credit:
1. Dealer cyber/IT security is notoriously weak
2. They sell/provide your information to parent company and brokers who pay for it - or trade for it
3. I tell them up front I'm not using their financing - when I tell them USAA or other large company they stop asking for credit bureau check
4. NEVER give a dealer your driver license original - DO NOT let the dealer make a copy without providing you their policy and procedures for PROTECTION OF YOUR IDENTITY
5. I provide a copy that I have annotated with who I gave it to, when and why. I can give you my template
***ALWAYS USE A CREDIT FREEZE on the 3 credit bureaus; Transunion, Experian, Equifax. It is a powerful tool tool for your protection - it takes seconds to lift temporarily when you want a business to run your credit.

Yes. I have been the victim of identity theft. More ironic - I worked many identity theft cases when I was on the job. But my identity info was stolen at the VA along with a few million other Vets.

Respectfully, Jim

Yea, totally understand all those points. When I talked to the CA, I could have sworn he mentioned doing a credit pull in a few days.. Wasn't sure if he was referring to when I get a production number or when the car is ready to be signed for, hence my mild confusion.

I had a second order that is no longer needed (picked up my car last night) and says “order received”, has a PN, and is confirmed for week 9 (so end of Feb) pretty rapid.

If someone needs a quick order allocation and is in NC or would do PDC PM me and I can share the dealer CA. I’m sure it will flip to production scheduled and be locked any day now since it got a PN today.
