Question on new X5 order

I am planning to place a new order for a 2021 X5 at dealership for a PCD and wondering the turn around time for the whole process.

I also want to know if any incentives applicable to the X5 will be applied at the time of the order or when I am ready to take delivery .

What if the incentives have an end date and they are applicable at the time of order but expire when the vehicle is built and ready for delivery

Thanks in advance for your responses.

This is just my opinion, but I wouldn't worry about incentives at time of delivery. It's hard to imagine any car manufacturer making it significantly more expensive to buy their cars over the coming months, given the state of the global economy.

My 21 went from order to delivered at dealer in exactly 30-days.

There is only a $750 incentive for August on 21's so I am waiting until September to take delivery. So the answer is yes. You can take advantage of better incentives when you take delivery.

Thanks , that answers my question. So Incentives available at the time of delivery will be applicable .

I guess the 750 incentive is likely Loyalty ?

Yes 750 loyalty only. If there was no incentive next month (which would be impossible to imagine), my understanding is that you would be entitled to the incentive when you ordered and credit was run. So at the minimum you would get the incentive that were offered that time.

I think once this summer sale ends August 31, there will be real incentives on the 21's...at least I am hoping!

By your profile, I'm guessing this is on the M50i?

The OP did not indicate which they are planning... By my CA's lack of reply, I don't believe there are ANY numbers or incentives available for the sDrive or xDrive at this time, and likely won't be until the September programs launch? Due to the production schedule, I doubt any will land at the dealerships until September 1, which is probably when we will first see these numbers.

I have an sDrive currently in Quality Check. Genius informed me this week was the first production week for the sDrive / xDrive. It's a pure guess, but I'm betting BMW will build a ton and hold them for dealership delivery on or after September 1. Since mine will be on a train from GA, maybe they will send them, but hold them at the VDC here?

BMW USA just posted August lease rates for 2021 models.

Lease: 55% residual / 1350 dealer incentive
Finance: 1.9%

No longer showing 750 loyalty so wonder if it still applies

Ok, I take my hunch back...

Perhaps the 21's will arrive sooner than later?

xDrives have been delivered, so few sDrives are sold that likely we haven't ran across any.

There have been a handful or so that have been posted about, here is one from a new member: https://g05.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1749151

Well then, I take back all of my earlier speculation in this thread.

<goes to text his CA to find out why the hell his 2021 isn't here yet...>

Being in CA it takes awhile for them to be transported there. It could be production did start on the 9th, East Coast vehicles would have been delivered already.

If I understand it correctly, you can take advantage of the best incentive from the month the order is in to the month you took deliver. For example, if I order in September (no incentive) got the car in November (no incentive) but there is incentive in October, I should be getting the incentive from October?

Highly unlikely the incentives will vary like you describe but you need to make sure you fill out the credit application at time of order in order to get the incentives like that.

Yeah, that is just an extreme example. I know in order to get the finance incentive, I would have to work with BMWFS but I was wondering if it is still better to get preapproval from another source and ask BMWFS to beat the rate.

They wouldn't even entertain your question if you contacted them. All communication regarding financing before a sale must be done with the dealer and dealers do not have the ability to lower the APR.

This is true only if I want to use BMWFS, right? I thought I can always finance from other banks.

Of course you can. My comment was in regards to trying to get the BMWFS rate lowered.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but right now, incentives on a '21 40i are $2500 financing credit and 1.9%. If you finance through a bank, you'll lose the $2500 and I can't imagine a bank being much lower than 1.9%. The cash may even be higher on an M50i, I didn't check.

A cool tip I learned from this forum, if you go to the BMW corporate site and click 'apply for financing', select the option that you are not an existing BMW Financial customer, then the first part will ask you about the vehicle you are financing and give you the exact offer details. You don't need to enter any personal information to get that far into the process then you can just cancel out.
