X5 G05 50E Drivetrain Malfunction and Fuel Range Low
Hello everyone, first post here, I’m owning a 2023 X5 50E. The car is great, however it has a problem seems to be unknown to everyone. The problem for me is that I lost trust in the car, mostly because basically i don’t know the main cause of everything. Good to know before: car is charged frequently and almost never drive without battery charge -> to avoid battery problems. Last week I left home early in the morning. At that time the battery was 70% charged and the fuel tank also around 60%. After 1.5KM, the car shows several messages in idrive: Drivetrain problem (STOP), please go to dealer and low fuel range. Immediately the car stopped and really petrified. Switching on or off the car was impossible. It was really completely blocked. However, idrive was still on (unable to really close down the car) and head and rear light kept on as well! One thing which took my attention: the total range was 60km, exactly the ramaining range of the battery. The range on petrol showed - - -, which was not right since the car had 60-70% fuel left. Only good thing was that the car was in neutral, so I could push it off the street, but at that time the car blocked the whole street. Half an hour later, towing truck came. Even then: lights still on, idrive still on. Nothing possible. Car was impossible to lock, close down or whatsoever. After two hours the car arrived at BMW. In the mean time, on the towing truck, the car remained freezed. Lights on, idrive on and so on. When the car arrived at BMW, the driver stepped in the car, to drive it from the towing truck. Suprisingly enough, he pushed the start button and the car turned on immediately. Like nothing happened. BMW couldn’t see anything in the car. They put 10 hours in investigating it for a right diagnosis, but really found nothing. The problem of this all is that this is the third time that the car stopped in this way. Freezed for a few hours and then started like nothing happened. So I lost trust completely. Mostly because my BMW dealership tells me that nothing is wrong… Good to know that all three times, it happened within 5 minutes from home. Anyone same experience or any tips? Many thanks in advance!! |
