Took delivery this afternoon after module replacement and maintenance test drive. The only noticeable difference between this and my 24 is that this one has Continentals while the other one came with Pirellis. Six hour road trip tomorrow. I’ll note any issues that may show up in the 50e “let’s get some data” thread.

I picked up mine today too. It also had Continentals instead of Pirellis like my 24. Here’s hoping we both have a trouble-free experience from here on out!

Does your '25 have this light-colored hole under the Connected Drive window? I think it's the rain sensor, but I don't recall it being a light colored cutout like this on my '24. I think the plastic cover on the inside has been updated too.

Mine is identical. Don’t remember on my 24. Also, “electrified by I” badging is gone.

Dammit. My HUD is making grinding sounds like my ’24 was. That required replacement of the HUD and the dash was damaged. I hope I don’t have to relive ALL the same repairs as on my last one…

Just picked up my ‘25 X5 50e…

Does the usable capacity ever go to 0? Or does regeneration always keep a minimum charge to maintain performance?

Since the engine is de-tuned I’m wondering if launch/performance suffers.

Congrats!!

I am not sure about the minimum charge question.

Even at 0 you will have electric power but it will be in hybrid mode. What do you mean by de-tuned?

BMW uses the same engine is different applications and tunes them differently. For example in this one, the 50e ICE does not put out as much HP as it does in the 40i.

Base HP is less than 40i? For what purpose do they do that? I am driving in mine now and notice a huge difference in overall hp and tq from my 21 40i. Are you stating that the 50e can be tuned to have even more hp than the listed 483?

ICE is tuned to 308hp and 194hp for the electric motor, combined 483hp. Yes, I’ve seen aftermarket shops offer tunes but I’m sure it will cancel out your warranty.

Yes, as explained above it is quite a bit less. Some folks say they do it for reliability because of the cold starts but as far as I know it is for marketing purposes and product placement. If it wasn't detuned it would have more HP than the M60i.

Finally joining...

Hey everyone,

I'm new here (first post) as a member but have been reading for years. I wanted to share my timeline for my 2025 X5 xDrive 50e order. I first asked about ordering back in February, but they were on hold. Luckily, I got notified when they resumed, and I placed my order on March 9th. Here’s how things have gone so far:

3/29: Got the production number and it showed status 111. Dealer gave me a production date of 5/20 and expected delivery around 6/20 in CA.
4/19: Status moved to 112.
4/29: Status moved to 150, and myGarage showed a production date of 5/10.
Leading up to production, the date changed from the 10th to the 9th, and then to the 8th.
5/8: Production started and it was awaiting dispatch.
5/11: Dispatched from the factory.
5/18: In transit.

Called BMW Genius and got this info:

5/11: On rail.
5/14: In Kansas City.
5/28: In Richmond, CA, to be loaded on a truck and sent to the dealership in Burlingame, CA.
Still waiting to hear from the dealer. Can’t wait to get it!

Cheers!

Happy for you both and envious at the same time! It’s so interesting how different the experience is by market as allocations open.

Got my 111 status code today. Feels good to officially in the queue. Thinking optimistically that I might be looking at late July early August.

Give Genius a call and they can give you your build week.

Congrats on your 2025 cars. Perhaps someone can report back on how well the new auto lane change works by confirming change looking in mirrors, when using assist plus driving !
