Polaris Slingshot Alternatives
i want to get a little crazy but not too crazy. the wife isn't into motorcycles because of past experiences so i started thinking about something awesome like a slongshot. unfortunately, it's not quite there either.
i'm starting to research vehicles that are similar to the slingshot but maybe with a proper roll cage. four wheels is better but 3 is fine. i was thinking t-rex but it doesn't look as good as the slingshot imo. what i really want is something like an ariel atom with a roll cage.

i failed to mentioned that i don't want to pay atom prices. i'll maybe drive the thing once a month. i only drive my current cars on the weekends as it is now.

A company near me in Culpeper, Virginia, Tanom Motors, makes a Hayabusa-powered 3-wheeler called the Tanom TC-3 Invader. Mid $50K in price.

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

Morgan 3 Wheeler?
I ordered mine in Feb 2012, it was finally built in Dec '12 and it took until March of 2013 to get to the dealership in Detroit. Taken at the Morgan factory in Malvern Link, England as it returned from its initial 50 mile break in drive (in the December rain). |

I drove a three-wheeled Morgan last year. It was a hoot. Slow as a pig, but who cares: it was the experience. OP: narrow down what you want out of the motor toy. Do you want sick performance or pure motoring fun?

One of the selling features of the Morgan for me was I could have fun driving it on nice days to work doing 35 to 45 mph on the 5 miles of surface roads I travel daily. Where as anything else that I was considering in that price range, like a new stingray or an old porsche just wouldn't have the same level of engagement without taking it to the track. Plus you get a vehicle with some great heritage, that looks old but has disc breaks, fuel injection and a warranty, as well as it being quite the attention grabber.
