It looks like you basically save a few hundred dollars by buying this amp off of eBay vs buying the BimmerTech amp with a mounting bracket that fits. Is this the only difference between these two setups (as it pertains to the 45e)

I have to say that in my opinion, the turn signal is not too loud at all.

twinturbomann - I see you have a M50i, if so, it comes with HK as standard and you'll need a Match 10 DSP to upgrade that. If you're shopping for HiFi system, check out bimmertech as well, they have the complete DSP 86DSP setup including bracket and harness for $999 as of today.

Thanks, my wife just got her 22 X6 delivered and she is happy with everything except the sound system. The X6 has the HiFi system so trying to get something to make it sound better. I went to bimmertech and pasted her VIN but the only thing it shows is speaker upgrade nothing regarding the amp upgrade. Although, I manually selected the 2020 X6 Hifi vehicle and see what your talking about!

This is great and I don't have to fiddle with Ebay items from Europe.

Yep, bimmertech chat support is bending me over with no lube with this price too

Yes it did and they said it would be $350 more a day after checkout and they won't honor the price posted, so I cancelled the order for now. $999 was good price, at $1350, I need some more convincing

I ordered and received my amp and harness from https://www.ebay.com/str/allwoodsaudio . Took a little time to ship from the UK, but everything was in the package except the 50amp fuse, and it was less than $1K. I think they are out of stock now, but you can always reach out to them. The kit didn’t have a bracket, I just rested the amp in the bay and will attach with some bendable metal brackets soon. It’s working great!

I first installed the Bavsound speakers ( no woofers) and it was a nice improvement. After that I installed the bimmer tech amp and that really made a big difference. It had a three-dimensional sound and music sounded great wether at low volume or higher volume. The amp upgrade was definitely the bigger improvement of the two. I have heard several people mentioned that they installed the amplifier first and felt no need to replace the HiFi speakers. I think the amp makes more difference than the speakers from my experience. Doing both makes it sound very nice for the money spent.

A question maybe someone can chime into. I looked up what the MEC card slot is and its;

"This ANALOG IN extension card provides your MATCH UP 7 Series amplifier with two additional inputs, capable of handling high-level signals from a factory radio as well as low-level signals from an auxiliary source. You can assign these two new inputs into the rest of the amp's 7-channel mix using MATCH's DSP PC-Tool app, or you can use the extension card's 3.5mm jack as an auxiliary stereo input for a portable player or an in-car infotainment system's audio."


Do I need this, or why would I need this just out of curiosity?

I assume its if I later want to hook up an after market amplifier and subwoofer? I figure any input I wanted to play, I should be able to play through the cars bluetooth.

I guess I dont really understand what this part means;

Just spoke to a Bimmertech authorized installer (off their website)...he had bad news...Bimmertech is only selling the amp if you buy the amp and full speaker set. Demand is so high...that they are bundling the two to make a few more bucks. Of course, this is one installer...could be different stories elsewhere.

I purchased the OEM BMW amp bracket and I as I suspected it looks like it is the same one Bimmertech uses. I have not attempted to install in the car yet but the Match amp mounts perfectly using the OEM screw and screw clip. The bracket was $35 from the BMW parts dept.

Note that you will need the special Match backing plate with fins that comes with the Match 7 BMW amp. I contacted Match and they had one laying around that they were kind enough to send to me.
