Hybrid is the default however you can set ‘Electric Individual’ as the default in the Drive settings.

to clarify above, Electric Individual is the only other drive mode that can be set to default. it’s either that or standard Hybrid

Does bimmercode not have this option for a 50e?
Like for my x40i, there's a long list of options except Sport+, which is what I drive in 95% of the time.

Just an FYI…the Bimmercode website has the production dates listed. You can check if your model’s build date corresponds with the ability to do any coding:

Probably the only option that just doesn't show up on the list. I can code everything as far as I know outside of that.

Maybe my wishfully thinking, people will eventually figure it out how to unlock it. Based in my previous bmw ownership about 21 years by now, aftermarket always comes through. 😅

Rooting phones has been the same way. Used to be super easy, then they block it, then someone breaks the code. But that is also getting harder to do.

By no means do all vehicles allow for ‘coding’ as realized on a BMW, so the expectation of being able to change how it operates is not an industry thing that someone should expect. If it’s there, it can be nice, but for an astute buyer, ti’s been known they put up roadblocks to coding the latest vehicles now for over a year.

Yes, it sure gets harder, and more expansive to do. But then our cars get more expansive too. If I have to recall my observation throughout the years, when BWM closes the door, it will take aftermarket sometime to come up with a way or ways. They will be expansive and experimental. Then as the particular model ages, things will eventually get cheaper, more systematic, and more reliable. BMW will also let go and won't bother closing the door for that particular model anymore. Usually, this of initiative is driven by 3 series crowd.
