You see Hitler...I think of Charlie Chaplin....it’s a more positive look at the “toothbrush” moustache....and I think he may have popularized it prior to Adolph.

Yes, he certainly did.
But I also don't want a car that resembles Charlie Chaplin

It beginning to look like the 1950s all over again...where especially rear end designs kept getting more outrageous with all the “fins”...but then it ended and The 1960s saw more streamlined designs. It looks like we may back in a similar cycle. I may have to “pass” until the designs are less outrageous.

No chance will it look anything like that. BMW dont tend to dramatically change the front ends on LCI aside from headline changes.

The big grill they attached to the 7 Series was for an LCI...

Ah good point and suppose they did change the kidneys slightly on the M2 CP. However the X5 already has the new larger grills to fit with the uniforming of the BMW range.

Or may be even 2023 ... hoping by that BMW has learned the lesson and hired new designers

Last time I checked the new model thread, it showed G05 end of production as 07/26, which would be an 8 year model lifespan - 1 year longer than usual. LCI usually on years 5-7. They may be aiming for more life out of this one since F15 only lived for 5 years.

My guess would be LCI as a MY 23 or 24

LCI will be right in the middle at months 48-50 in that case. LCI are always in the middle of the life cycle to keep the car fresh, no point in updating in in year 7 out of 8 like you suggest

MY 23 is year 5, not year 7.

You literally said LCI usually in years 5-7. That's not the case.

If the G05 will be a 8 year run, LCI will be out by December 2022 at the latest. More likely to be 6 months prior to that still as I doubt they will keep the model that long considering a traditional 7 year cycle

I meant LCI would start in year 5, sorry for the confusion

We are saying the same thing. LCI for G05 for Model Year 2023 which starts production in Calendar Year 2022.

With all the tech, electric and legislation advancements I don't think the classical 8 year run and LCI will hold.

I'm expecting to see more major (LCI?) updates within one model run.

The point is some people denied the 4 will be produced with such a humongous grill and it did

Resurrecting this, we are saying LCI will come Mar to Aug of 2022 as a MY23 model?

What should the expectations be? Similar to the 5-series where the headlights changed?

Hard to guess, that's a long way away still.
