8WT Control K
I've got a new 50e order and one of the options listed is Code 8WT with a description of Control K, this is a no cost option that I didn't spec (!)
Can anyone clarify what this is? Thanks |

If we can just take a guess throwing stuff at a dart board...if 8WT for VAG means what was mentioned above ("Front fog lamps, cornering , all-weather and highway light")...one could extrapolate that info to BMW-speak where there are similarities between manufacturers.
BMW used to have front fog lights, cornering lights on many models prior to 2020 & the pandemic...plus many markets also had "highway lights" (VLD aka variable light distribution) which could also be similar to all-weather lights. For example, VLD changes the way the headlights are thrown based on speed (city/urban/highway)...and the cornering lights illuminate when turning or when reverse is engaged. And if "Control K" is referring to the multiple K-Can communication buses that is utilized to send data to the multiple control modules/units...perhaps this is what 8WT is actually referring to.
