Agreed, I tried to get a week 50 but the system wouldn't allow it so I was stuck with a week 51. There's no guarantee reps at BMW NA really know whether or not it's December as a whole or the actual date

Kind of hope that's it. That way I would understand it. Excruciating to watch my target completion date pass with no one at even BMW NA able to see progress nor give me a new completion date for my car right now.

Did you call the automated system or speak to anyone at BMWNA?

Spoke to both my CA and the Genius hotline. Honestly, I've given up on the garage tracker and the automated line. Don't think either updates very often, so don't put much credence in it. When it does arrive, I honestly expect to get a call from my dealer saying come pick it up, when both automated systems indicate my car is at production begins.

This is correct. I have ZDY — went into production on 11/27 and will be delivered 12/18.

My dealer called on my F15 3 years ago to say it was there and sent some pics, online tracker still said waiting for a carrier.

No movement on mine, have a feeling it's going to be much later than expected. I'm not impressed with BMWs inability to meet their timelines and the awful online tracking system.

I'd agree the tracking system is pretty bad. It's a shame because it could be much more accurate and that would unravel a lot of the confusion people have with "where's my car?". Between the garage/tracker, automated line and the Geniuses, the information is inconsistent and not necessarily accurate.

I think this is exacerbated by the fact that it seems like their are some part shortages here/there and they are also catching up with issues being found now that vehicles are out in the wild.

Add to all of that, factory closure for Thanksgiving and the upcoming 2-week closure. Things aren't going to go any faster is my guess.

Mine hasn't moved either, but as of now I do have a new estimated completion date of 12/20/2018. Original was 12/14. We'll see...certainly not holding my breath.

If mine is delayed to next year (for delivery) I'm likely going to cancel it. I don't like how broken the system is when they know well in advanced what's needed and set the times internally. To me it's not acceptable to make a timeline as a company and fail to meet it with no explanation when customers are waiting. I've made arrangements for my X5 assuming it comes this year which is really a crapshoot right now. I'm not going to keep changing things around because of failed communication from the factory to sales and corporate.

Where are you in the process and how long have you been at that step?

Lumpy- glad to hear you are finally in awaiting carrier. Any idea if you can pick up the car on the same day the dealer gets it?

Production begins and about a week. BNW still says it's estimated completion date is 12/18 but I'm willing to bet that won't happen seeing how no progress has been made

I'm not sure - I'd email your CA and ask him/her what the turn around time is at their dealership. The Genius I spoke to says it takes a few hours typically for the dealer to prep it. My guess is it would take them a day to turn it around and deliver it to you. Only a guess.

My vehicle was "Dispatched from the Factory" Saturday 12/15 (3 days shy of a month after it "entered production"). It's due to arrive at the dealer tomorrow.

My advice would be to reset your expectations and take a step back - be patient (easier said than done). My truck sat in "production begins" for 2 weeks before it shifted over to "entering assembly line".

Others (me included) have seen their completion date shift out on or the day before the initial communicated completion date. Usually 3-5 days. That may change or be different for you. Wait/see.

Based on what others have seen, and with the upcoming plant closure (2 weeks starting Sunday) it could take a while.

I called the automated services and still has a completion date for today. Just called genius and he said estimated completion date 12/21/18 "keep in mind these are subject to change." If it doesn't happen by Friday, we won't get anything till January.

That's what I'm concerned about. If mines delayed until January it's going to be annoying. I have a trip scheduled for work among other things making it very inconvenient. I think BMW needs to be accountable for delays and ensure clear communication to their customers since the CA's often don't know either.

If there's a delay due to the holidays I won't buy the car unless I'm given a damn good reason. There's no excuse for sloppy handling of customer orders. Frankly if they relayed what the issue was ahead of time I'd more willing to accept a small (not 2-3 weeks) delay.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! I get it - I've been frustrated by the process as well. It took my build 3 days shy of a month to go from "production begins" to "dispatched from the factory". With a 4-day shut-down for Thanksgiving, to be fair.

I completely understand as I'm sure you do. Patience can only be had when there aren't other variables affecting on whether or not I should wait. I highly doubt my dealer who is doing a couretsy delivery of the car wants to hold it for a few weeks and I don't want it sitting there for a few weeks. I'm really annoyed that it might come down to this because my CA has been good (I'm fairly certain he's mad at me now that I've explained my stance) but the factory and poor communication are troublesome.

Just curious, what would you do? Buy another brand off the lot?
