Just a random thing that drove me crazy until I figured it out; if you have the window lock button pressed it also disables the second row power controls. Have no idea the correlation between the two but there you have it

Yes learned it hard way too. It probably has “kids are seating in the back, lock everything up” correlation

Someone asked about cargo area dimensions: I'm getting 43" across, so looks to me like 1" less than your photo states for non-3rd row.
Someone asked for cargo storage photo: it seems to be solely a holder for the cargo cover unless I am missing something. |

Thanks PeterCD, can you also tell me what the "C" dim is? Ref the pix I posted where in a two row model its 40.5". This would be with the third row folded down flat. I'm wondering if I lose any space by going with the third row which I would only put up when needing the seating area, otherwise those seats would always be in the down position.

Marty, the depth appears to be 40.5" — same as the regular x5

Great news, so is there any downside to getting the third row beyond the $2,200 cost? I mean it appears the cargo space is the same as a two row and you get adjustable second row seating with recline. You can have the spare tire option as well.

You can't get the spare tire option with the third row.

Yes. It's a 50/50 split

Has anyone gotten the 3rd row seats with the 22" rims? It won't let you order both together with the reason being "ride comfort", but I much prefer the look of the 22" rims so I'm planning to put them on anyway. Would be curious to see if anyone has this configuration and how that's working for them.

Yep, it is the standard for the m50d here. But you would need a 21” rim anyway as there is no winter tyre in 22”... at least here

How's the ride? I'm assuming it's just as good as with 21". Where are you located? It sounds like you can order these 2 options together there, that's nice. Is that still true for the 2020.
I'm getting 20" for my winter set. |

Ride is perfect. Basically the same as with the 40i with 21” rim. No problems at all. I’m in Hungary. The order was true for the 2019 version, delivered end of June (produced in may), not sure if this is still the case for 2020....

So does having the 3rd row impact space in the 2nd row? I'm looking at a new X5 with 3rd row, but I'd also have rear facing car seats for the 2nd row, so would need as much space as possible in the 2nd row.

If anything I would think it's better. With the third row you get power 2nd row seats. So you can slide them back for more room
