I ordered laser lights with exec package and honestly I only cared that I got them because the rings look more bmw than those half hexagons with non laser lights (clearly my opinion and only influenced by my previous f10 daytime rings that I really liked) then I saw pictures of that silly warning label and worried... luckily that turned out to be far back and not noticeable normally... anyways...
Tried high beams a few times when I was driving over 45 and I couldn’t tell if lasers worked or not... definitely could be I don’t normally drive in these conditions...
but cornering lights do not work as they clearly did in my f10...
I kind of expect bmw headlights to have rings so not being able to order that would have been hard to accept...

Agree. This is the only reason why I ordered the laser lights too.

Will revert back soon.
Also please get a statement on wrinkly seats

Could it be possible there is a defect in the current lights and they let current stock run out until the new part arrives?

Waiting to hear back from my dealer for other options beside the 1K credit. Bought the car on the weekend and received a call from my SA and made me aware that laser lights is currently not an option due to stock issue. Worst part is that they don't have an ETA regarding this issue.

BMW - get your sh?! together!!! If it's not available, send a bulletin out to make your consumers aware. Poor planning on their part

I sent an email to my GTA Torontodealer also to inquire. I placed my order the same time as member 'X54th' in Toronto so hopefully mine was already in production also. I haven't got a call from my advisor but I'm sure I will hear from him today to confirm status.

Yes the laser lights do work but at a dimished level in the US due to regulatory issues.

Lets also add that even in their reduced programming mode, Laser Lights still are THE BRIGHTEST lighting system that is available. It is the latest and greatest high end lighting technology. Many other luxury vehicles still haven’t caught up to full LED lighting yet.

IMO, no big deal... I use high beams maybe 1% of time while driving and unless you live somewhere in forests away from cities and towns you will never see your laser lights turn on. It's a bit of a gimmick and hyped up thing, again just my opinion.

I guess between the laser lights and the 3rd row seating on my order, which I've canceled, delayed the order till May!
Getting $1K back for something we're not going to use much is a good compromise. Of course didnt mind having it, since it sounds cool to have laser lights!

Previous posts have said this is not the case. Have you tested this?

I think I have read all the posts here. I believe that it started with someone in Canada saying they were told of the issue. Has anyone in the US heard of the issue? Secondly, is it possible that the issue only applies to newly ordered cars (as of the day the stop production was issued) and/or it does not apply to cars that are "sold" (priority 1 status I believe the dealer calls it) that were ordered before the stop? I have to believe that BMW's supply chain is pretty sophisticated that a shortage of a part would not come up with no notice.

I believe the VIN on my car was issued before this issue came up. I'd like to think that perhaps my car would not be impacted, but really have no idea based on the data in this thread so far.

Yea, but not as bad as the airbag warning on the sun visors.

good point, I just heard here, not thinking it could be a Canadian production issue. Another question is, are Canada getting their new cars from the US production plant in SC?

I just spoke with a Genius to get an update on my week 13 build. He did not know anything about the Laser Light issue? maybe he wouldn't be made aware but, if this was wide scale I think they would be hearing about it? He verified mine was still scheduled for week of March 24.
