It won't interfere at all, the bracket is keyed so it fits only in a spot where it is safe to mount.

My state requires front plates as well. But, I don't think it's strictly enforced. (Black car, white plate. Looks like chit). That said, I have the second plate in the back... If I get pulled over, I'll plead ignorant... I do that well.
