194", gtfo with your huge car. Wasn't expecting it to be smaller than the competition, but this is absurdly large. Like Cadillac always playing the too big game.

Interesting also they specifically named called A7 and Panamera for dimension comparison. A little bit out of their league.

So according to this article about 350 hp for the V6. That's not bad but it won't be a match for the B58 in the M340i.

yeah they need to ditch the fwd. I guess it helps keep costs down by making it optional though. and most buyers who just want to step up from their accord and stay with honda won't mind.

the more I read about it the more it seems this is gonna be like a 540i / A6 competitor for a good chunk less money. its about the same size and power. They probably feel their buyers would rather have more space inside than performance (if you're comparing to an M340).

Nice effort overall. Interior design is trying way too hard. I dislike not having an actual shifter. Acura still can't get their front end treatment right, this trapezoid looks awkward.

They've done a lot of marketing about how this is a new chassis and how the car will be sporty, but if they were truly serious they would have gone to a RWD-biased layout. Yes the Audi A4 is on a FWD architecture, it's not like RWD is necessary for success, but Audi doesn't market it like it's some sports car.

Regardless this is the best Acura effort in a sedan since the TL.

They did it in the S2000 and NSX, but otherwise I don't think they've ever done it, at least in modern times.

bout time they got their heads out of their ass and started making cars that actually look good...they made the ugliest cars in the biz the last few years after being such a. great looking brand in the 90's

although, they really should have tried to keep the front end looks much closer to the prototype ....I'd be all over it if it looked like this

75.2" wide, this thing is going to look dramatic in person.

It's wider than the F8x M4, current Camaro, current Mustang, current G-series 5, A7...

Its going to be visually substantial

I don't think it's lack of ability, rather a lack of will. I perceive Honda as being too sensible to invest in a RWD platform that too many consumers would incorrectly perceive as a liability instead of an asset. Instead, long ago they put their chips on building a performance AWD system. There apparently pretty good at it... not that I have any experience driving any SH-AWD except a first gen version decades ago.

True. Plus most consumers don't care so as long as they market their FWD sedan as being "sporty" and it looks/feels the part that's all it takes to generate sales.

I predict a loaded out TLX TypeS will sticker at the price of a base 330i. If this was the case, what would you pick?

Looks nice, finally the Acura faithful have something to actually enjoy from the brand.

I went to a launch event for the 1st tlx, they really tried to hype it up. When we drove it you could tell it wasn't sporty at all. what a letdown. This one looks way better.
I thought it was kinda funny when they said the body is 50% stiffer. Either the old one was really flexible or this one is stiff.
To me, I see a cross between a Mazda 6- Alpha Romero and a Camaro.

Seriously, taking aside the German competition, why would anyone buy this over a Genesis G70/G80? Makes no damn sense.

Because there's a lot of fans of Acura that have been forced to move away from the brand for many years now. If this a return to form, there are plenty of reasons why people would buy this over the G70 or G80 (you can ask the same question to BMW G20 owners really...).

Nothing great, maybe it's a move in the right direction except everything should be electric. #fail.
