Personally not a fan of his videos.... I could care less about the quirks and features of a car, and he doesn't really provide his "take" on the car - he just talks about the features, and at the very end provides glib comments about the driving experience, leaving a buyer in the market for one of these with less than adequate information.

Well he is fairly popular. I do watch for some perspective. Yes he is not a hard core sports car or vehicle fan in the sense you mean. However he does have 3.77 million subscribers which gets him some very nice cars to review. I am not forcing anyone to watch

Not as fast as a track hawk? Hmmm, should I trade in? *sarcasm*.

Oh I know. He has a huge following... I still watch to take a look inside and out of some really nice cars

I watched this in the morning, actually was waiting for him to review F95 after he reviewed X3M awhile ago.

I watch many of his videos and this one pretty good overall, I'll give it a 8 out of 10

Review

That was the shortest test drive review ever lol, but still interesting to watch. I was surprised that the acceleration of 0-60 in 3.8 seconds only earned an 8/10 score. Pretty high standards these days.

When it comes to new cars provided by dealerships, Doug is very much a "yes man." That's understandable, he has to play the game. This color doesn't suit the X5M, and it looks very awkward in that thumbnail. Amazing looking interior though.

On a side note, some of the features in these modern cars are such pointless gimmicks. Who sits in their car and turns on an "experience mode?" Corniest thing ever.

I like Doug, but not going to use 27 minutes of my time to watch him rehash the "quirks and features" that he has already talked about a million times in most new BMW videos, as well as his overall very short and quite frankly unimportant impressions, I'll leave that to other channels..

I find Doug best when he reviews older cars or actual quirky cars.

As for the X5 M, looks good, I'm sure its a beast in its performance, It'll be interesting to see it lined up with a Cayenne Turbo, GLE and its other competitors.

I'm sorry but his score scale is so off. It drives me crazy how he scores cars it makes no sense most of time.

This video hasn't changed my opinion of X5M. Would buy one without reservations.

Agreed, its just some dude rating what HE thinks of it, zero impact. I enjoy watching many reviewers that state their opinion. I do however look at actual third party reviews that have actual metrics and data points hypercritically, but not Doug the man is funny as hell.

I'm pretty sure his scale is for all cars that he reviews. So on a scale from Hyundai Elantra to Bugatti Chiron, the X5m is 8/10.

Doug was best when buying cars at Carmax and writing about his uses of the Carmax extended warranty. Basically, old Jalopnik.

He's got good past experience to back his statements. He's worked at Porsche US HQ and has engineering insights, writer of automotive journals like Jalopinik. He has great eyes and sense for things. I definitely don't agree with everything he says but he's pretty respectable I should say.
