Feedback on my spec?
I'd like to hear your feedbacks about my build:
X5 4.0 xDrive Carbon black Coffee vernasca (still unsure between coffee or ivory white -- previously had ivory + carbon black on my 740 and really loved the contrasty look. However, we now have 2 children who love to put their shoes on the seats ) Aluminum dark mesh trim (or anthracite brown poplar matte trim) M sport package 21" wheel (style 741M) -- for the staggered look M sport brakes 3rd row seat Executive package Multi contour seats Heated seats + steering & armrest Acoustic glass Harman Kardon Extended Shadowline trim Would love to hear feedbacks, especially about coffee + aluminum dark mesh combo or poplar matte, as well as ivory white + aluminum dark mesh or poplar matte. If anyone has pictures of these, I'd love to see them. TIA |

You should go with the 50i for sure just keep everything else the same. But go with the ivory white + aluminum dark mesh....

I have Ivory Merino and it's fantastic. It looks pretty durable. Think about getting Ivory and spend $20 on a decent leather cleaner. Problem solved.

I have the ivory white vernasca. Love it. So far, about 3,000 miles, no problems with dirt or staining. Plus, with the luxury seating package, the ventilated seats blow air OUT of the seat. That should help keep it clean also! I highly recommend that package.
You don’t need 50i. It costs $15k more and trust me, the 40i engine has more than enough speed. Gets up to 90mph very fast and feels like you are going 50. Makes a great sound also. You won’t miss the monster engine, IMO. |

Upgrade to coffee extended Merino for $1K since you're ordering M Sport.

My thoughts
Quote:
1. Highly suggest getting the anthracite brown poplar matte trim. It looks and feels amazing and I get tons of compliments on it. Personal choice, but I wasn't impressed with the aluminum mesh in the showroom. 2. I have the 21 inch wheels. One thing to note is the lack of a lot of tire choices that fit. I got 21 because I wanted the Orbit Grey color option and the summer performance tires are super sticky and great, but I think they won't have too much tread life. 3. Get the Merino. Feels incredible. 4. Stick with the 40i. The 50i is unnecessary power for 99% of all driving. The transmission shifts really smooth in conjunction with the 40i's I-6 engine so passing and accelerating are still effortless. Also, the 50i has much worse fuel economy. |

If so: How are you liking the combination over time? And do you find the coffee really helps to bring out the brown in that trim?

I would add the luxury seating package. Shouldn't cost you much since it includes the MC seats but the massage and ventilation are nice to have

Two kids 9yr and 11yr old 2200 mile Disney trip. Looks every bit as new now as then. You NEED luxury seats at this level of a car. I NEEDED the V8TT as it is a beast but that’s just me.

Exterior Color is a personal preference so I won't chime in on that.
My suggestion regarding the build is go with the 22's. They ride great, transform the look and are on NON runflat tires

Thanks a lot everyone for the feedbacks!
Regarding 50i, I feel that for my driving I won't need it 90% of the time. And I must have 3rd row option, but 3rd row is not available with 50i (based on the 2020 ordering guide). I've taken more looks at ivory white photos (thanks MystroX5!) but now I think I'm more convinced towards coffee. But I'm also leaning towards poplar matte over aluminum dark mesh. Anyone has photos of coffee and poplar matte combo? Now someone said upgrade to coffee extended merino ... other than the material, is there any difference between coffee vernasca vs extended merino? Other things: Luxury seating package makes sense (since I'm already getting multi countour) 21" wheels... yes, tires will be expensive unfortunately (already learned that with my current X5 with 20" wheel upgrade). Maybe I'll just stick with original 20" wheels. LSM, with 22" wheel you can't get 3rd row. I think the reason is 22" is non run flat so they give you a spare tire by default. |

The throaty exhaust sound of your X5 is addictive fella! But I've gotta ask, where did the license plate "1HEMI JP" come from?
