Anyone had any luck with build slots for the 40d or when it's likely to open up for selection?

in Italy they will arrive in May, I ordered my yesterday and I think it will be one of the best-selling models of this period ... the right measure between the performance of the M50d and the less management costs of the 30d, also in Italy it will be well seen because below 160g of co2

thinking of dropping your current car?

We had such great prices on the 30d, I don't expect it to be fantastic for the 40d, unless Covid makes them completely desperate!

Only if and when I can get a cracking deal on a new 30d or preferably a 40d. I'll look seriously later in the year. If you look at the pricing of one or two of the pre reg 30d MSports on bmw used site they are about 25% off list. When I boight my first F15 one of the big uk dealer networks told me they can do a stock unregistered vehicle at the same price as their pre reg vehicles if pushed so it can be a good guide. I'm not expecting the 40d to be heavily discounted for a while but on the F15 BMW ended up giving an extra £800 incentive on the 40d model.

Just ordered my 4Od this week, currently being told February delivery date, but have been told this is likely to improve as we catch up / react with regard to the effects of Covid, but maybe not as American production ?

Has anyone had delivery of their 40D?

If so how have you found it?

It's good, very strong. Haven't flogged it yet as still running in.

As per other thread, there's no stop/start button which is a bit annoying. At some roundabouts and junctions it cuts out needlessly. But it's quick and smooth to start up again.

What I didn't see coming was the EV style braking when you lift off the accelerator. Takes a bit of time to adjust to. In some ways quite helpful but other times you just want to coast and it's slowing you down too much. When it does go into coast mode by itself it's pretty good but again, sometimes you don't want it/it's inappropriate. I just wish I had some more control over it!

My 40D M Sport arrives this friday and will be ready by the end of November.

I couldn't find the other thread, where you mention no stop/start button. Could you help me find it? Is there a way to adjust the settings of stop/start within the menu system?

Braking - interesting - that isn't mentioned in the marketing. Are there no controls over braking or coasting?

This will be my fourth X5 and I have never run one in, just waited till it is warm and then used it. Are their instructions for running it in or are you being cautious?

I think sport mode overrides stop/start but for the rest of it, you're stuck with it on.

No control over the braking/coasting function as far as I can see. I'm sure I'll get used to it but at times I do find it a pain.

There is guidance reference running in for the drive train/brakes/tyres in the manual. Your choice whether you follow it or not...!!

I ordered it end of July 20 and got £12,500 off list of £96,000, which was enough to turn an idea in to an order.

New X5 40D - UK

I have now had the car a week and am really happy with it.

Quiet, smooth and enough power
