I recently bought a November 2019 M50d -dealer demo in UK.

CO2 on the V5 (vehicle reg doc) states 181g/km.

I have since noticed other M50ds for sale on bmw.co.uk with CO2 of 179g/km. Examples include vehicles registered in the months both before & after Nov 2019.

179, instead of 181, would have saved me quite a bit in taxes (as I imported it to Ireland and we get savaged in taxes via CO2) and I cannot figure out the difference between my vehicle and the ones with a lower CO2 rating.

Can anyone tell me?

Do the 179g cars have 22" wheels?

My 2019 M50d is 179g/km. only difference in spec is I don’t have 3rd row seating. Maybe it’s the extra weight of the 3rd row?

I looked at that and the roof I failed to find a reliable pattern... it's like a 'luckybag' which CO2 rating is given

Seems to be only one G05 '3rd row' vehicle for sale now. I had examples of 3rd rows with 179g/km.

get specs from bmw re its co2 rating for your car.
phone up DVLA with correct manufacturers spec.

Hi, good tip. What do you think it should be?
We've a Gov. online system here that lists several variants of each model and allows you to get an estimate of the taxes upon importation.
There are 4 G05s listed: Two five seaters and two seven seaters.
One of the 7 seaters has a 165g/km CO2 rated attached to it.
Is there any way that's accurate? 🙏
