Battery warnings mentioned electronics

I searched but did not see a dedicated thread and I failed to take a photo of this warning that surprised me when I was trying to re position the car in the garage.

I have a BV 900S-2C which was on parking mode last night as I was testing this for the three weeks of driving this month. The local service manager mentioned last week that the BV had a "draw" on battery power, but he did not seemed concerned about it.

I also have the BV Power Magic Pro that will turn off the BV should automatically shut off the camera once your battery voltage drops to a settable point, or a certain time passes, whichever comes first.

I have a hardwired V1 but it does not come on with the engine off. My R7 uses a plug that stays on for maybe 10 minutes but it was not plugged in last night.

My wife was too ill to leave on schedule so the car has not had a regular drive after Monday of this week. Would not driving on the open road address this battery issue?

Unfortunately our G05's LOGS pretty much all battery use and the dealer will try to deny battery replacement if they can prove you have a parasitic 3rd party draw like a camera. The safety cut off voltage point on the charger for the camera is only to try to ensure you have enough juice to crank the motor, but to BMW you're damaging the battery by running it down every time you park it to keep the camera battery charged. Read up on lead acid batteries. They like to be kept up at 100% charged as much as possible and going below 80% charge on a regular basis will result in premature wear...

was the warning something about not being able to shut down properly and something about power or battery drain? (I didnt take a pic of it either).

If so I found it comes up every morning if I leave the vehicle overnight having locked it by comfort access or the digital key. Whenever I lock it with the remote, the message does not appear.

I think there might be a fault where some of the locking system stays active as I sometimes hear the door locks re-locking despite the vehicle already being locked (when locked other than by the remote fob).

I am currently on the open road and saw the message only one time. I always lock using comfort as I walk away.

I hope to be alert to take a photo should this return.

That is likely the message that I saw as well. Fortunately, it has not come back as I am driving 100s of miles each day now.

Well after a week of driving 100s of miles, I saw this battery message again this morning. I am hoping nothing happens before I return home in two weeks.

I finally got a quick shot of the error message when it returned this morning in TN after driving 400 miles yesterday.

Here is what I saw today and on previous days where today the sunlight drew attention to dust accumulated over 2 weeks of driving on the open road:

Anyone else seen this message which popped up again this morning that I saw during a month of driving on the open road (May)?

Reviving this old thread as I've run into the same issue! My 2019 X5 spent 2 weeks with the dealer trying to track this down only for them to say it was caused by my dash cam. I've since fully uninstalled the camera, but the message still pops up any time I leave the car parked for more than a few hours. Has anyone else seen this or gotten it fixed?

Did you have every piece of hardware related to the cam removed? Do you have other electronics like radar detectors?

If not, I want to use your case to take this issue back to my dealer.

Yep, got the car back Friday and unplugged the camera entirely as soon as I got in. Have driven 50 or so miles in the 3 days since, and the warning message still pops up every time I leave the car for a few hours.

Nothing else is plugged into any socket in the car - cigarette lighters, usb, nothing at all powered.

I get this message even if my car battery is tendered and fully charged. I believe this is a reflective of improper shut down of iDrive when the engine is turned off.

Here is part of what my dealer said last week:

"Aftermarket accessories connected battery charger [all BV installed by dealer's electronic shop] and ran vehicle tests and found fault for closed circuit current violation. Ran energy diagnosis and found that current violation occurred when vehicle was asleep and most likely caused by aftermarket accessories."

I installed a battery pack because I was concerned about this possible issue. However, the 10 minute delay on switched fuses (I really couldn't find one that shuts off immediately when car is turned off) exposed it as well to loading the battery.

Battery pack:
9A current draw at 10 minutes =~ 1.5 A-hour

PMP:
~0.38A draw for say 12 hours =~ 4.5 A-hour

So I chose the lesser evil.

I wish there is a battery pack that can be configured to start charging only if it drops below 80% or something (and of course if there is available supply), then it may bypass charging during that 10 minute window.

Sorry, somewhat of an old thread but am curious has anyone found an ACC line (Fuse #) that truly shuts off (no 7-10 minute delay) with shutdown?

I also get this message occasionally, and believe its because of the dash cam drawing power in parking mode. And thus didn't bother too much with it. Should I?

If this is from the dash cam, it would appear every time.

I also have a BV9000 hardwired, however I have two celllink batteries setup to it. Knock on wood, but have had it running for 2 months without issue.

I have BV900s-2ch since late July last year with a BV battery pack, no issues so far, car battery indicator is still perfect.

When I installed my dash cams I never found any switched fuse that powers off immediately. You always get to use the car battery after the car is turned off for that 10 minutes or so. Also, when the door is opened the switched fuse turns back on again.

How are you checking your battery health (ie "car battery indicator is perfect")?

I guess I was wrong to think the blue battery light indicates the status (after searching through the forum and none I can't find from the manual). I recently checked though with a tester (after my aging Acura TL showed some issues with its battery).
