Break in period hard acceleration

Hi guys. I just got my new 2024 x5 50e and I absolutely fall in love with this beautiful machine. This is my first car so I was not aware of the existence of the break in period and I floored it from 0 to 80 km/h in sport and hybrid modes couple times during my way home from the dealership.. However I am not sure I exceeded the 4500 rpm limit (probably yes) as I was too excited lol. I wonder if this will cause any damage to the ICE in the long run and do you have any suggestions for how to baby the car during break in period? Many thanks!

sports mode for 3 tanks & restraint

Up to 1,200 miles/2,000 km
  • Do not exceed the maximum engine and road speed:
  • With gasoline engine:4500 rpm and 100 mph/160 km/h.
  • Avoid full throttle or kickdown under all circum- stances.
  • Use hybrid mode, i.e., drive alternating between the combustion engine and electric motor.
From 1,200 miles/2,000 km
The engine and vehicle speed can gradually be increased.

Sports mode revs the engine higher before shifts. Why wouldn't you do regular mode with battery hold?

I would t worry too much about it. Ideally don’t do it again. Break in period is good for ICE to make sure rings are seated well. At any rate I wouldn’t think about it too much.
